chapter 4-Noah

I heard something had happened to Nick. I know he will be alright though. But Claire must be going crazy. I can't see her for another hour. She works, I work. Ugh but I do it everyday.

"Noah! Get over here!" My boss yells. In that tone, I know I did something wrong.

"Yes Sir?"

"I wanted to let you know, you have an important promotion meeting coming up. Don't miss it Noah!"

"Oh I won't Sir. Thank you so much!" I don't know what to feel. I'm mainly excited because I only have 30 more minutes until I'm done.

She's beautiful. The way she holds him is priceless. Her sister would want to this but sadly she can't. So I promised I would protect them. Nick is fine now and that's all that matters.

As I watch her from afar, I keep replaying my conversation with her sister in my head.

"Noah! I know what is going to happen. I shouldn't of have broken the rules, but I did. My baby will be given to my sister and I will be, um, killed. You need to take care of them"

"Emmy, I'm not with Claire! I just can't seem to bring myself to even talk to her, let alone care for her and your baby."

"Noah you have to. Your dad is a part of the Contraility and if you can just talk to him when something goes wrong I'd be forever grateful. Remember one of the rules is that you can't break a promise!"

"Emmy I wish you wouldn't ask me to promise because you know I follow the rules."

"But little does everyone know that you actually broke a big rule but cause your dad is part of the Contraility, you got away with it."

"Emmy you said you would NEVER bring that up!"

"Then promise me you'll take after your son and my sister! NOW!"

"Okay I promise!"

I was so stupid for breaking the rules and I bowed I would never do it again. So as I watch Claire, I keep remembering my promise and I will forever watch my son and his aunt.
