"It would be really nice if you could return my calls-"

Stiles and Lydia were woken by Scott, walking into Stiles' room as he always did. It wasn't something uncommon for Scott to do- but what was uncommon was Scott walking into Stiles' room to find him with a girl in his bed- especially Lydia.

He watched as the two slowly started to wake up. Stiles' arm was wrapped around the strawberry blonde girls' waist, and her head was pressed into his chest.

Scott stood, utterly confused as they both stirred, opening their eyes.

"Oh hey Scott, what're you-"

Stiles' words were quickly cut off as Scott spoke.

"I'm sorry did I... interrupt something... or?"

Lydia and Stiles looked at Scott confused, almost as if he had three heads before realizing the way they were lying and quickly pushing apart from each other, Lydia sitting on the edge of the bed as Stiles scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Oh no- we didn't do anything- we just fell asleep..." Lydia stuttered out, rubbing her eyes in tired circles.

"Yeah- we were up late and we just knocked- that's all." He said, just as frantic as Lydia.

Scott knit his eyes together, confused as to why they were both so frantic to push off Scotts accusations.

"Well uhh... why were you both up so late then?" Scott asked. Lydia and Stiles looked at each other, hesitant to tell him what was actually happening. After all, they didn't even really know what was going on.

But... Scott was their friend and all... could they really keep this from him?

"We uhm..." Stiles stalled, trying to think of an excuse, but couldn't come up with one for some reasons.

"I was helping Stiles with his microbiology homework. We're on the genetics chapter and it's a bit confusing." Lydia said. She knew exactly what she was doing, there was no way Scott would know anything about Micro since Lydia and Stiles were only taking it out of bare necessity for college. It was a ridiculously hard class.

He knit his eyebrows together before nodding, and he didn't seem to be completely convinced. Lydia knew that he wasn't convinced because he probably still was thinking about why she and Stiles were in bed together, and she was ok with him thinking this way. She'd rather him be skeptical of their relationship than of the real situation at hand.

"Well, ok. Stiles text me later, I gotta go to Kira's." He said. He gave us both a skeptical glance before leaving.

Both Stiles and Lydia made sure Scott had driven away and was far enough away that he couldn't use his wolf hearing to tap into their conversation.

"Lydia, we lied to him." Stiles said. Lydia paused for a moment before turning towards Stiles and pursing her lips.

"Well... it's to protect him. We have to make sure this thing can't effect anyone else before we tell them or rope them into our problems." She said. Stiles sighed and plopped back down onto his bed.

"Yeah. I guess you're right."

Lydia nodded, looking back out the window.

"Yeah, I know." She said. Stiles looked over at her, shaking his head and laughing slightly.

"God, you are so-"

"Don't finish that sentence, we don't have enough time. We need to figure out why you weren't in my dream last night. Which means we didn't have the same one." Lydia says as she cuts Stiles off.

Stiles thinks for a moment and nods in agreement.

"Yeah you're right, you weren't in mine either. That's so weird..." He mumbled softly.

Lydia sighs, trying to think of any possible answer, but can't. She sighs and stands up, stretching and grabbing her stuff.

"Uhm... Where are you going?" Stiles asks, hoping Lydia would stay since he was enjoying her company.

"Well, we're going to my house so I can get out of these old clothes and then we're going to try and figure out what's going on." Stiles, relieved and slightly shocked that Lydia wanted him to tag along with her, stood up and rummaged through his drawers so he could change.

"And how are we going to figure out what's going on?" He asked, looking over at her.

Lydia paused for a moment before shrugging, tossing her bag over her shoulder.

"Not sure. I'll tell you when I figure it out." She said as she walked out of his room.
