Chap. 12

Jason being dipped to beat the snot out of Chad, not listening to Vanessa was locked in so she couldn't get out. And there was a cop passing by, he stopped Jason, put hand cuffs on him.

The result a night in jail and was summon for a trail, the date close, it was conducted so quickly. Maybe because there was no reason to linger, the culprit was known, and the act had witnesses, not to motion proof.

Proof such as injury's provoked on the victim, which included, four broken ribs, bruises all over face and body, a broken arm and emotional trauma.

In the end Jason's record was stained. Six months of jail, he'd lose a crucial semester of his residency, almost certainly, he had to start over. Jason didn't regret it. His only worry now is when during those months he not being able to protect Vanessa from Chad.

That's why he insisted on her leaving town, She didn't agree. She was mad because Jay was incarcerated for her fault. She didn't care if Chad came for her she could fight back. At least things were official between them they were a couple.

Because before he got incarcerated, for beating her ex boyfriend, they kissed after trail, before he was handcuffed and detained in front of everybody.

To be fair Jason talked to Gwen right off the bat when he got on bail after the assault, before trail he confessed the truth, he was sorry for how much he hurt her, but now he loved Vanessa.

Gwen was furious, and outraged but in the end, she understood, they separated.

Now after a month had passed since Jason started his six months in jail. Vanessa took self defence classes, she went to the gym and got a instructor, just to be sure she could defend herself in case Chad decided to repaid her a visit.
Especially because he texted her right after the sentence, when he was leaving : You been a bad girl, you hurt me so I have to hurt you too, now.

Alexa stopped throwing up. She wanted to skinny to be perfect. But she but realized that no one is perfect.

So after a month since Thanksgiving, this was the situation : Jason was severing his six months, Vanessa was taking self-defense classes to be able to fend for herself. And was working on the side with Officer Brown to have Chad arrested for his crimes. Especially cause he did the same treatment to three girls; Alexa was throwing up to be perfect and skinny, but she stopped, because she realized that no one is  perfect.

They were in school and was Vanessa standing at her locker. Alexa was flustered when her friend cheered two simple words: "Happy birthday, Alexa."

She smiled. "Thanks."

They had a long talk her and Vanessa, had a about what Chad did, and about how they needed each other only more, since Jason is in jail for assaulting Chad.

Alexa missed Riley a lot but Vanessa distracted her from her troubles.
After they talked Alexa went to her last class.

Alexa was still in math class Mrs. Winnie gave them a test always before Christmas. She took more time packing up, before leaving school.

Vanessa left after school, lucky thing it was Friday before Christmas, there for they were allowed to get out earlier - it took 45 minutes to drive to the prison 15 minutes to pass security.

Well this one time Dean would be walking home because she was already late. It was pure luck that they let her visit everyday.

She unlocked her car and threw her purse in onto the passenger seat. She switched on her engine, Dean was walking towards her but she shooed him away with her hand, meant to say she was already late and he ought to walk home.

Vanessa sat nervously tapping the table, around her was a of couple tables but only a couple occupied. She hated that dull room square tables, the guards hanging around, pacing the room back and forth, this was a low level prison where small criminals were sent.

It had been a month, Vanessa already knew the guards, she was freinds with two of them.

Vanessa caught her breath when the grey metallic door opened, her boyfriend entered, escorted by a guard, as if he were a dangerous criminal. Jason gave her a small smile and waved from afar, he jeopardised his whole future for a stupid girl, she thought, tears already stinging her eyes.

She gave him a wide smile when he came. She stood up and gave him a hug, the guard only gave them five seconds for it, then they sat across from each other.

Jason stared at her figure. "You look more beautiful every time I see you."

She half smiled not wanting to ruin the mood. It was sad to see him like that, she tried to think positive, orange suited him and he would be out in five months.

Jason leaned over intertwining there fingers, he did that every time he she visited him, she went to visit him everyday.

"I love you, I'd would do that for you a thousand more times, you know that right?"

She heaved a big sigh, cracking a tiny smile. "I love you to, Jay. But..."

"No buts, that piece of crap deserved it." He squeezed her hands.

She bent down enough to kiss his hand. "I just need six months to have my boyfriend back."

He cracked a smile, taking advantage of being over there hands to caress her face. "That's the first time you called me that."

She lowered her head without replying.

"I love you much Ness I just need to know if your safe."

"I love you to Jay I could take care of myself." It was weird that he was so open with his feelings she was happy about that.

His family visited him too, but not everyday like her. She came everyday and for Christmas she would have a surprise for her lover boy.

In the end they ended up talking about how her day was, just to forget where they were, but when the hour came to a end.

The guard grabbed Jason's arm harshly, pulled him to stand up, when he lingered to steal a few glances at his girlfriend, once more mouthing 'I love you', which had her smile lightly.

Riley was leaning his passenger door, he had to come today it was Alexa's birthday, maybe she would be with him, age wasn't a problem anymore.

He waited against his car hoping he would see Alexa. He watched kids running out of the school eager, going to their cars or just walking off the property.

Alexa walked out and was walking to her car.  Riley called her over, waving at her. She walked over to him.

"Hey."

"Hi." She greeted back nervously and she couldn't believe he was here.

"Happy birthday Alexa. I have a present for you." He had satchel he grabbed out a small black box in his hand and handed to her.

She blushed a lot wondering if she should attempt the gift. But in the end she took it and opened it.

Alexa seemed dazed by the charm bracelet in her bracket in her hands. It had different different figures of volleyball players in different positions, net with a ball, and a few open books, plus a Osar Wilde quote : To love oneself is beginning of a life long romance.

In the end she smiled at him and turned crimson. "Thank you so much its beautiful."

He was glad that she liked the gift.

He cupped her cheeks she gasped. "I love you Alexa, I love you with my whole being, that would never change." Riley muttered softy eyes closed. "But the question is, do you love me too?"
