Chap. 14

Alexa's POV

After Riley asked me that question if I love him back I told him I needed time to think. He nodded and just left. Today was Christmas Eve.

Two days after that morning. I texted him I wanted to talk to him wow this was a big step.

Texting messages.

Me : Can we meet up and talk?

Riley : Yeah we could can we go on a date instead?

Me : Yeah we could

Riley : Cool I will come and pick you up in a hour

End of messages.

I cant believe that I was going on a date with him. I have to get ready quickly I only had one hour to get ready. Shit! I started doing my makeup. I put on a navy blue short dress, with black flats.

After I got ready I realized that he was going to come in fifteen minutes. So I started to play Subway surfers on my phone to kill time after a couple minutes the doorbell rang.

I opened up the door and saw Riley standing there. I looked at his outfit we wore a navy blue button up t-shirt and pants. Wow that's weird we were matching clothes.

I laughed. "Look we are wearing matching outfits."

"Hey we are I just noticed that." He said looking down at our clothes.

"Lets go." He said me and him walked to his car.

The car ride was silent, we drove to the movie theaters we got tickets and went to see a horror movie. I kept trying to focus on the movie trying to ignore that he intertwined our hands.

After the movies we started driving we were talking about the movie we saw. I realised he the stopped the engine. I got off the car and the first thing I noticed was the beautiful sight of the ocean.

We started walking on pier, I admiring beautiful sight, seeing the shore with lanterns and the ocean, and a Christmas tree at the end of the peer.

Riley finally found the voice to speak. "So I guess you heard... I'd found someone in Boston."

"Yeah." I said I still didn't get over that did he have girlfriend in Boston? I wasn't happy about this.

"It wasn't true." He said. I turned to him confused I knew he had a girl in Boston. He broke up with that girl and now is back to me, if gets tired of that girl so quickly who says he wont tired of me?

He stopped walking and passed a hand over his face. "A friend of mine was joking. She thought it would be funny if believe I found my soulmate, she didn't know that they had me on speakerphone."

"Riley can you not treat like a little naive girl? I know when your lying your left eye twitches when you lie." I said turning back to ocean, restarting to walk. "Not to motion that your story is pretty unbelievable."

His eyes widen at my response he was surprised.

"If I'm going to be your girlfriend you have tell me the truth. You have to treat me like a adult."

"I do." He said.

"Your not telling me the truth." I said shaking my head.

"Alright I never moved on you could bet that." He cracked a smile. "I think you know why." I looked down looking at my shoes blushing. Riley soon looked serious. "That night that was my ex. She thought if my mom liked her that could help us get back together."

I nodded happy with the explanation. Silence regained we started walking to the end of the pier standing against the railings.

He grabbed my hand. "Now that all of that is cleared. Can you answer my question?"

I looked up at his green eyes, I managed to smile and squeezed his hand, this was due, wasn't it? I admitted it. "I...I love you Riley."

He grinned I yelped when he pulled me to him, having me crash against his chest. He pecked my lips. "You really do?"

"I really do I love you Riley." It took years. For me years to realise it but I do really do love him.

It was past 1 am and we just got to my parents house the lights were off in the house maybe everyone is sleeping? It is late.

I giggled when Riley gently pushed me against the front door, kind of blocking me, playing with my hands no gap between us.

He grinned. "I say it again."

I mimicked his grin eyes half closed. "You first."

He chuckled pecking my lips. "I love you Alexa."

"I love you.. Riley." I said the tenth time this night. I was grinning like a Cheshire cat despite everything.

I barely had time to say that I got my tiptoes and kissed him, gosh I needed to kiss him. Someone is calling me my is phone ringing. I broke off the kiss first, and fished out my phone out of my purse. And I giggled when he started kissing my neck and cheek.

I answered the phone. "Hello?"

I saw the ID: Vanessa it was Vanessa calling me. It was silent for a minute.

"Vanessa are you okay? Are you there?"

She wheezed that made my heart stop, She had a broken voice. "Help ...me... Alexa."
