Chapter 9

A/N: Wow 222 views. Thank you everyone for your patience. Rejet own certain characters. I only own my oc Yuki Hayashi (character), Hayashi family, cover, plot, and storyline. Please respect the copyrights! Hint: this chapter continues where chapter 8 left off.

Let us continue into Chapter 9.

"Oh Yuki, does anyone else know about this? When were you supposed to take the operation?" Yui asks.

"...I think they would have been known from Reji-san about my father's work ... Tomorrow was the booked day ..."

Yuki cleared her throat, a little uncomfortable before continuing.

"Speaking of before. There was a test trial, our entire family was invited to attend. Miko went to the lobby to answer an important phone call while I accompanied my parents to view the completion".

This is where the walkers came from, where my family met their ends...

Yui shifted closer. "The virus, you saw it happen?" The girl guessed by the way Yuki turned her face away nodding gravely.

"Something went awry. A flaw they were overlooking not until it was too late.... that one small mistake created the virus, those inside were affected first while they tried to escape, they turned into walkers. It wasn't long before other staff attempted to block them in but then they turned too, my own parents were affected by the virus dying right in front of me, the walkers were coming yet my own flesh and blood begged me to shoot them before they turned into monsters...."

Yuki put her head between her knees, shaking.

"The last thing they said 'please Yuki. Do not make the same mistakes we did. I know you do not want to but if you do not shoot both of us will most definitely turn. Close your eyes and shoot then leave this place if you can with your sister, we love you'."

I gagged feeling bile threaten to come up and spill everywhere yet forcing a swallow down, Yui's cheeks were streaked with more tears.

"Did you?" Sherbet eyed girl asks, again only receiving a grave nod from the purple/blue eyed girl.

"Hai, I shot them both with the gun I carry ...by the time I ran into the lobby my sister who'd heard the commotion was making a barricade... there were so many walkers but little time , Onee-San loaded a gun urging me towards the entrance door but I didn't want to lose her too.. she was insistent telling me stuff at the last moment before I was forced out".

It is so quiet in here except my hushed whispered voice to Yui, there were no vampires in the living room to eavesdrop.

" Miko got three or four before sacrificing herself to make sure I escaped. That day I made a vow and by binding my time, second day medication , only surviving on my own without coming across another person, until eventually the food supply ran out and walkers were coming into the area... well that's how I got here."

Yuki shrugged off the shakiness, the girl pulled Yuki into a hug.

"When's the last time you've taken medication?" Yui asks.

Uh oh.

"Last night before bed, it was the emergency painkiller." Brief explanation Yui paled realizing what I had done.

"Then the one you gave me was..." I sweat- dropped.

"Suppose to get me through today until the operation tomorrow... but I didn't mind giving up the other painkiller even if it meant you'll get to have more time with them.
Due to circumstances you needed it more than I did, it was worth the risk and besides apocalypse creating walkers, there is no one to perform the operation now. I'm as good as dead." Yuki shrugged out of the hug forcing a smile, Yui weakly flicked me in the forehead.

"Hetai!" That hurt. I say aloud

"I'm grateful but what about the donor?" She asks me seriously cross about my little self-sacrificing.

"No match has been found, look it's pointless to stop the inevitable, Komori Yui."

But Yui was having none of this from me.

"Is there a way to reverse the virus to stop my condition, from turning into a super walker? "

No there is not considering a 'First Blood heart' Is endangered.

"We've been over this, if the virus reaches the heart it's over, you will cease to be Yui Komori. But there is one way to reverse the virus: at the source...

It takes time to work, turning walkers back into humans with their humanity and souls returned except those who were killed as walkers.... probably days for an anti-virus to spread, by then it will be too late as the painkillers wear off. Even with the virus gone"

The fact remained I would still die.

"The painkillers are the only thing in your system keeping the virus at bay while the medicine in mine keeps me alive and all the more important reason to find a survivor to implant the heart into."

The vow I made may be able to help. Again, I asked myself ' is it possible something went wrong with the machine part that processed?

One answer:

Yes.
