My body slams against the icy cold water of a pool, well, more a lake sort of thing. I sink to the bottom of the pool, gathering my thoughts, and then a thought of something pops into my mind.
I feel a hand around my wrist. I look up, and see the most attractive man I've ever seen. "Hey," he says, "My name's Lucas." he says, "You are?" My mind goes blank.
ANSWER HIM
"Veronica!" I shout a little. I breathe out. "Ronnie for short." I smile. He smiles back, he's also wet. Obviously, Jeramiah was lying. I am not the first jumper. Lucas pulls me out of the water. "What faction are you from?" I ask, randomly. "Candor."he replies.
He was in the same faction as me?
"You?" He asks.
"Candor." I reply, smiling.
We walk in silence for a few minutes and then speaks up. "You're really beautiful, Veronica."
BAM. Did he just admit his affection for me? Me?
As we're walking past the Dauntless dorm rooms, I decide to act up.
I push Lucas into my new dorm room. I know this, because this is the room where I am kissing Lucas. Our kiss is tender at first, then it gets rough. His hands rubbing against my torso, and my fingers intwining with his beautiful brunette hair. He pushes me up against the wall, not breaking the kiss. I tear his shirt of, exposing his beautiful body. I notice a tattoo on his left ab. I lock eyes with him, and then we continue our kiss.
This is wrong
I say in my mind.
But don't stop whatever you do, Veronica.
The next thing I feel is my back against the soft foamy mattress of my bed. We continue kissing roughly. He feels his hands around my back, pulling me closer to him.
"Lucas..." I whisper.
"Mmm?" he says softly into my neck. I pull away, and make eye contact.
"What did I do? Did I make you feel uncomfortable or..."
"No, I love you, but, I'm not ready."
I walk out of the room, fixing my hair and clothes. When I walk down the halls, Kaelyn runs out of one of the rooms. "Ronnie! Hey!" We hug for a brief second, then she locks eyes with me. "What's wrong?" She asks tilting her head a little. "Come with me, I need to tell you something."
