"Dude what do girls like?" I ask Sammy through the phone.
"You think I know? I have had let's see now. Um zero girlfriends. How am I supposed to know?"
"Well I just thought you might know considering you live with five other girls." He really hates helping me ask girls out because I have had quite a few girlfriends where he has had none.
"Fine I will just go ask Gar-"
"NO ABSOLUTELY NOT! I WILL HELP YOU UNTIL THE DEATH. YOU WILL NEVER ASK GAR WHILE I AM ALIVE."
"Okay dude. Calm down. Now what do your sisters and moms like?" Sammy can be a bit crazy at times, because he has lived in a family with two mothers and three sisters, he knows a lot about girls.
"So I think that they like roses. An ass ton of roses. But not always. So if you want a bouquet get an assorted bouquet, that way you can't go wrong. Also get chocolates and or fruit cups. A poster with a cute little caption will definitely catch her heart."
"Sweet thanks dude. And how have you not gotten a girlfriend?"
"Well um, I may or may not be gay and just haven't told you." What?! This is crazy. I didn't think that he was gay but whoop there he is.
"Wow Sammy why didn't you just tell me that? Then I wouldn't have made fun of you so much for not having a girlfriend. You can tell me anything okay? You don't gotta worry about me judging you."
"Wow you took that a lot better than Gar. He freaked out when I told him. That's why I never told you. I was afraid of being judged."
"Dude. You live with lesbian moms. Why would I care what your sexuality is?" I really hope he stays comfortable around me because he has been my best friend ever since pre- school.
"Thanks dude." He gets pretty quiet after that before saying, "So do you want me to come over and help you create the poster for Emma?"
"Yes please."
"Alrighty. I will be over in five minutes."
"Sweet. Byeee"
I already have the poster and some chocolates, but I don't know what to put on the poster or if I need to get her something else. So I am just patiently waiting for Sammy to show up so he can help me do this right. I have the date planned out. Well assuming that she likes Italian food.
DING
That is Sammy. "It's open!" I yell because I just don't want to get up to open the door.
"Where you at bro?" This is how he greets me every day he comes over.
"Kitchen." He walks in, "So I need help deciding what color to put the words in and what words to write."
"Well I am good at that. So first, what color was Emma's backpack?"
"I believe that her backpack was yellow fading into pink." Why does he want to know the colors of her backpack?
"Okay good. So since she had two different colors on her backpack that means that pink can be the main color with yellow going on in the background. She has to like both of them or she wouldn't have a backpack with both of them." This makes a lot of sense now. Sammy really is quite smart with this type of stuff.
"That is genius. Now what words should I put? I don't want to sound too into her but I want her to know that I do like her and that she is beautiful." Wow I sound crazy. Is this normal, because with my other girlfriends I never felt this way.
"Okay lets look on google shall we. Cute promposals. Now we go to photos and take out two top favorites and combine them so that we don't just copy them." My God he really knows what he is doing. Has he done this before? Maybe to ask someone to a dance that I didn't know about.
