ZOEY'S PERSPECTIVE

I shivered while I shifted to my human form. I can't even begin to explain the cold shiver that goes down my spine whenever I shift. I realize that the shifting wasn't the only thing unnerving me, I had the uncomfortable sensation of someone watching me. I looked behind me, there crouched behind the trunk of a tree was the man in the black suit. Before I even knew what I was doing the words escaped my mouth in a yowl "RUN!" I screamed as loud as I can, I knew she heard me because she winced, I was probably too loud. I shifted immediately to a bird so I could get an aerial view of things, surely the dogs and the hunter wouldn't be able to get me now. As I took off I looked to me side where my arms would usually be, I saw red wings, on the top of my head I had an alfalfa of feathers, I was a cardinal! I looked down below me through the thick tangle of branches, my tiny heart started beating faster and faster because I couldn't see the red haired girl anymore. I circled back heading in the direction I had just come from. I saw her she was hissing and spitting in her wolf form, hackles up baring her teeth in attack position ready for a fight. The hunter; in one swift movement, took his gun out of the holster on his belt and held it up slowly circling the girl. I stayed perched on a branch, until the last moment when the hunter was about to pull the trigger I yelled,     "WHAT'S YOUR NAME". I had to know. If the hunter was going to get her I had to know her name so I could find her. She had just enough time as the hunter looked around wildly for who said those words.
"My name is Adriana!" She said as the hunter snapped back to attention and shot her with the dart gun.
