*Taylor’s POV*

Huh. I don’t see Alex anywhere. Maybe he’s sick? But he seemed fine yesterday. Oh well, I guess I won’t have to worry about our little ‘promise’ today! I thought to myself as I sat down. But then he rushed into science, just in time. The bell rang as he sat down. “Shoot.” I muttered under my breath.

Class was uneventful. Just read out of our textbooks and did a worksheet. Math wasn’t much better. But Mrs. Bright didn’t let us work with partners today, so I was able to work a bit better than the past couple days. History wasn’t interesting either. I couldn’t wait for lunch! I was starving!

Finally, lunch came. I went and got my food and then sat down in my normal spot at the end of one of the tables. It was my favorite spot to eat lunch. If someone else was sitting there it just ruined my whole day. This was were we used to sit for lunch…

“Hey Taylor!” Alex said brightly slipping into the seat beside me.

I nearly fell outta my seat. The boy scared the crap out of me! “Why ya gotta be like that Alex?!” I exclaimed as my breathing went back to normal. He just laughed, and laughed.

“That, my sweet, is what I like to call REVENGE.” He said a devilish smile on his face and a malicious gleam in his eyes.

I was to lost in that look to even register the fact that he’d just called me “my sweet”. I’d seen a look like that before. She’d worn that look so often.

“Taylor? You okay?” Alex said, devilish grin gone, a look of concern on his face now.

It took me a moment to respond. “Yeah, I’m fine.” I replied then looked away and began to eat. “Sorry, I got lost in thought….”

“You seem to do that a lot.”

I laughed. “You have no idea…”

He smiled and began to eat.

Then I heard someone calling Alex’s name. It was Grant, he was beckoning for Alex to come sit with him and his crew. Alex looked at me, and then back at Grant shaking his head. He was seriously gonna stay here with me when one of the most popular people was asking him to sit with them? What was wrong with this kid?!

“Alex, you can go sit by them. I honestly don’t mind. They’ll be far more interesting than me!”

Alex simply looked at me, shook his head, and said: “Nahhh.”

I was amazed to say the least. He was actually gonna go through with this promise, huh? Well then so be it. But I can’t go through with this promise, I was stupid for making it. He doesn’t know the real me. That’s it! I’ll just be me! The real me is way… weird. He won’t be able to deal with it! Haha I’m a genius!

“Taylor… Why are you grinning at your food like that?” Alex said, eyeing me oddly.

“Oh, no reason City Boy. No reason at all...”
