Chapter 4

Abigail's Pov
Stiles, Liam and my stalking is finally proving fruitful when Theo wanders into the woods at night.
"I told you he was up to something" stiles said
"We just spent three hours watching this dude play video games in his bedroom. He better be out here covering up a mass murder" Liam said
"Yeah I can think of much better things Liam and I could be doing right now" I said as we followed theo through the woods.
"I'm sure you two can keep it in your pants" stiles said rolling his eyes.
"That's not what she meant" Liam said
"Well... We haven't seen each other all summer" I whispered to Liam
"Dammit" Liam mumbled realising what could have been happening now instead of is walking through the dam woods.
"You still got his scent?" Stiles asked Liam
"Don't need it" Liam said pointing to the footprints in the mud.Liam suddenly stopped and looked at his phone.
"What's wrong?" I asked
"I forgot, I was supposed to meet Mason at the school gym." Liam said
"Okay, why didn't you just tell him?" Stiles said
"Tell him what? " Liam asked
"Anything." Stiles said
" I can't just tell him anything." Liam said
"Why not?" Stiles asked
"Because I haven't... I haven't told him everything." Liam said
"Still? We said it was okay." Stiles said
"Yeah, I know, but it's not that easy. It's a lot to accept." Liam said
"He watched my dad blow up a Berserker with a land mine. I think the groundwork's been pretty thoroughly laid for acceptance. Scott and I have been through this. Okay? More than once. It's always been better when they know." Stiles said
"But what if he freaks out? What if he doesn't want to talk to me? What if he tries to stab me with something silver? Or what if..." Liam said getting cut off with a thump as he falls in a hole, his phone falls out. When he picks it up he notices a leaf earring in the mud.
"Omg Liam are you okay?" I asked bending down to the hole.
"What the hell are you doing? I... There he is. Hurry up. Stop screwing around." Stiles said to Liam.
"Seriously?" I say to stiles helping Liam out of the hole.
"Come on. Try and get his scent. Get anything?" Stiles said looking at theo on the bridge.
"Soap. It's nice. It smells good." Liam said causing me to giggle a little.
"Not his soap, his emotional state. Chemosignals, remember?" Stiles said
"Oh, yeah. Okay. I... He's sad." Liam said
"He's sad?" I asked
"Well, not just sad... It's more like grief." Liam said
"Grief?" I asked wondering why he would feel that.
"Oh, my God! Go! We have to go." Stiles said
"What? Why?" Liam asked
"Go! Right now. Just go. That's the bridge where they found his sister." Stiles said as we ran away
"What sister?" I asked
"The one that got lost and died from exposure. He's leaving a flower for her." Stiles said
"That doesn't sound evil." Liam said
"I know." Stiles said
"What you guys doing?" Theo said jumping out of a tree in front of us. Liam growls at him, Stepping in front of me protectively
"Whoa. Why do I get the feeling this kid's tougher than he looks?" Theo said eyeing Liam.
"Only when we let him off his leash." Stiles said
"Stiles, we were in Little League together. Why are you so suspicious of me?" Theo asked
"Because of these. One's a speeding ticket signed by your dad eight years ago. The other one's a signature on a transfer form to Beacon High. They're different." Stiles said
"Huh. Yeah, they do look a little different." Theo said
"No, they're totally different. Signed by two different people." Stiles said
" So my dad's not my dad? Like he's an imposter?" Theo said
"Yeah, something like that." Stiles said
"Who do you think I am?" Theo asked
"We don't know yet." Stiles said
"Want me to give you a DNA sample or something?" Theo asked
"No. I don't have anything from the fourth grade to match it to." Stiles said
""You know, Stiles, I came back here for Scott... ...but I also came back for you. Someone like you. Someone who's willing to walk into the woods in the middle of the night to protect his friends. I don't have anyone like that, but Scott does. You all do. I know I'm in the right place. I'm meant to be here. I'm meant to be part of this pack." Theo said
"What with all the long speeches from that guy?" I asked when theo was out of sight.
"It's something villains do" stiles said.
"Huh that does make sense, which is odd cause most things that come out of your mouth don't" I said to stiles.
"Hahahaha very funny" stiles said sarcastically as we started walking back to the jeep.

When we get back to the jeep Scott is there waiting for us.
"Crap" I whisper.
"Find anything?" Scott said.
"Nope." Stiles said
"I fell in a hole." Liam said cutely making me smile, kiss his cheek and grab his hand.
"It was the bridge where his sister died, wasn't it?" Scott asked
"Yes, it was. Very embarrassing. So we are gonna leave now." Stiles said but when he got in the car the engine wouldn't work.
"Son of a... Liam, just do me a favor, get in the car and turn the ignition when I say." Stiles said to Liam .
"Try it." Stiles yelled to Liam the engine started sputtering.
"Yes. Okay, we followed him out here. What do you want me to say? That I'm a stalker, huh? That I'm crazy, totally paranoid? None of this is new information." Stiles said
"No one thinks that stiles" I said walking to the front of the jeep and trying to comfort him it's pretty obvious he's upset.
"Now you're gonna try to at least give him the benefit of the doubt?" Scott asked
"I give people the benefit of the doubt. I've given a lot of benefit to a lot of people." Stiles said
"Like Derek? Kira? Liam? Abigail?" Scott said
"You didn't trust me?" I asked
" I was right about Peter. Try it again." Stiles said the engine just sputtered again.
"You know, I bet you still think that there's something about him that can be saved" stiles said
"Maybe." Scott said
"Try it again." Stiles said
"Why can't you trust anyone?" Scott said
"Because you trust everyone!" Stiles said and punched the car.
"Are you okay?" Scott asks stiles
"I'm fine." Stiles said
" You could've broken it." Scott said
"It's not broken." Stiles said
"Let me see it." Scott said
"I'm fine." Stiles said
"Stiles. Let me see it. Please" I said. Stiles sighed and showed me his hand and I healed it for him.
"When'd you learn to do that?" Stiles asked
"The summer was very educational" I said

When stiles dropped Liam and I off to the school Mason was walking out of the school.
"Hey. Hey. Sorry I'm late." Liam said
"Oh, no, you're not late. You missed it. I worked out. For two hours." Mason said
"Yeah, I know. I forgot. And I'm gonna tell you why. Actually, I'm gonna tell you a lot of things. A lot of hard to believe things. Really hard to believe." Liam said
"There's a wolf." Mason said
&Yeah, I'm getting to that." Liam said
"No. There's a wolf right behind you." Mason said
"That's a wolf." Liam said as we turned around to look. It was a black wolf. It growled and I screamed and ran. When we were running up the stairs Liam stopped, turned around and growled at the wolf making it run away.
"There's something I gotta tell you." Liam said looking up with glowing eyes.
"You're a werewolf." Mason said and he doesn't seem a bit scared at all. In fact he seems to think it's pretty cool.

Kira's pov
"So, how come you never told me why you want to go to UC Davis?" I asked
"It's a really good school. Not too far from the Bay Area. It also has the best program for biological and physical sciences. Perfect for someone who wants to be a veterinarian." Scott said
"Why wouldn't you tell me? Were you worried what I would think?" I asked
"No. No, not at all. It's actually because... I'm worried I'm not smart enough to make it" Scott said
"You'll make it."

Parrish's pov
"As far as I can tell, no one's gone in and no one's come out." I said
"Sorry I wasted your time." Lydia said
"Not a total waste. I'm just glad Tracy's okay." I said.
Third person
Lydia and Parrish enjoy a coffee and a pat on the back that Tracy's all safe. Even though she's not, she's in the doctor's place. They shoot her with something. Turns out all the night terrors were just her as a werewolf.

Stiles pov
"Usually, we wait until they do something wrong before we declare them guilty." Dad said look at my theory board and the things about theo on the board.
"Well, he's guilty of something." I said
"Accusations require proof. And proof always trumps instinct. It has to."
"I know, Dad."
"Let it go, Stiles. Get some sleep." He said beginning to walk out of my room.
"Hey, Dad." I called him, he hummed in response.
"I got it. There's something different. I know what it is. You're not wearing your wedding ring anymore." I said
"You're sure this kid's guilty?"
"Absolutely."
"Then all you gotta do is wait. If they're really guilty, eventually, they make a mistake. They always make a mistake."

Theo's pov
"You were told to practice. It was supposed to be indistinguishable from the original. It was supposed to be perfect." I said to my fake dad talking about his signature.
"I swear, I practiced. Hundreds upon hundreds of times." He said
"There is one way a false signature can be explained. It's not easy to write when you're wearing a cast. Is it?" I said crushing his hand with a hammer.
