Mel's POV
I woke up to snow covered streets which wasn't uncommon for this time of year, just annoying. I grabbed my phone from my nightstand to turn off the alarm that was screeching in my ear and killing my already not so wonderful mood, I hated the snow. Upon unlocking my phone I saw a new text message waiting to be read.
From: Harry
Cafe is closed because of snow, take the day off with meeeeee
There was a lovely picture of him lying in bed that was quite convincing but then I remembered the stack of files still left behind from last night. There was no way I could take the day off.
To: Harry
Remember that stack of files you pulled me away from last night? They've got to be finished. Sorry, love. xx
I locked my phone and tossed the covers off, heading for the bathroom. I opted for a quick shower knowing that it would be the warmest I would be all day with the nasty winter weather bearing down upon the entire city. Fifteen minutes later I forced myself to turn off the water and try to look like a decent human before heading to the office.
I plugged my phone into my iHome and let Adam Levine's lovely voice fill the room. I was running a little late thanks to that shower so I rushed through my makeup and pulled my hair back into some excuse for a bun. I was headed for my closet when Elsa and Kate waltzed in covered in snow and leaving water puddles everywhere.
"Really you two, the one morning you decide to come over it's in the middle of a bloody blizzard?! Look at the mess you two are leaving" I motioned to the gathering trail of puddles as I swung my closet open and began rifling through the numerous jumpers.
"Sorry love, someone is in quite the mood. And here we thought that after planning for Harry to come over to the office last night would make us the best friends ever, what in the world were we thinking El" Kate laughed sarcastically as she headed into my bathroom to check on her appearance.
"Thank you girls, it was lovely! Doesn't mean the two of you aren't making a mess" I called pulling a pair of pants and sweater from their hangers. I layered them with a scarf, thick socks, and boots then of course Harry's jacket. It was starting to lose his smell, unfortunately but it was still much warmer than any of my coats.
I managed to usher the two of them out of my flat without any of us slipping and dying in the puddles, add those to my growing to-do list for today. At this rate I was never going to make it out with Harry tonight. Work passed slow and the cafe was closed so there was no coffee to make the day at least semi-enjoyable. Harry had never responded to my text but I didn't have time to worry about it.
Finally at about half five I typed the last string of numbers in the computer and I was completely relieved. I turned the lights off in my office and made my way to Elsa and Kate's area of the floor, they shared one large office with these two older ladies. I pushed the door open to see the two of them and a gaggle of boys sitting around a pizza laughing and having a swell time. At the head of the circle was my curly haired idiot, we locked eyes and my entire day became better.
"And why the bloody hell wasn't I invited to this lovely gathering, it's not like I'm starving or anything" I said dropping my purse and Harry's coat on Elsa's desk and walking over to join them at Kate's.
"Hi love" Harry smiled pulling me down into his lap and placing a kiss on my cheek. I couldn't do anything but smiled and lean against him as his arms snaked around my waist.
Elsa and Kate started making cat calls but I refused to pay them any mind. "So who are these two lovely lads" I asked grabbing a slice of pizza.
"Well, I'm Ed uh...I live with Harry. I'm 22, that's about it, yeah?" He had firey red hair and a cute smile, Elsa was all over him.
"I'm Niall and I'm from Ireland, the best country in the world. I live with Harry and I'm 20" the blonde boy said with a large smile. Kate was practically undressing him across the circle, she definitely needed male attention.
"Well nice to meet both of you, I'm Me-"
"Don't worry love, we know who you are, you're the bird that has Harry squealing like a little school girl" Ed laughed as he covered his face with arms waiting for Harry to come at him.
"Squealing, eh? We'll have to discuss that later" I giggled turning to look at him.
"Ed, consider yourself dead mate" he laughed and chucked a piece of sausage at the ginger boy's head. Niall was laughing uncontrollably, I liked his bubbliness.
"Alright, enough you three. Eat the food, don't throw it...Mel, I'm gonna need you to control your...."
"My boyfriend, El. Harry is my boyfriend" I said with a smile. I felt his arms squeeze me tighter as the two of them felt into a fit of squeals.
"That's what Harry sounded like last night, you two nailed it!"
We all busted into a fit of laughter and my life finally felt normal. This is what 20 should feel like. It wasn't much longer before we had abandoned what was left of the pizza and decided to head back to our flats and prepare for the night ahead of us. We looked like three couples in the elevator, Ed and Elsa were already into the hand holding stage and I was pretty sure Kate was going to jump Niall's bones the second she got him alone.
"Let me walk you home" Harry mumbled into my ear as the we reached the ground floor of the office.
"Elsa and Kate always come over to get ready on Friday's" I replied to him quietly. He stuck out his lower lip and tried to force puppy dog eyes but it wasn't quite working for him. I laughed and grabbed his hand as we all filed out of the lobby and on to the sidewalk.
"So I think we should go to Electric tonight, that place is always quite fun don't you think Haz" Niall said as we were all looking around for cabs.
"It uh...it has it perks" he said winking at me as I remembered the night that had followed after the last time we had went to Electric.
"Well, Kate and El love it. Sounds good to me" I smiled politely to the blonde haired boy and a wide smile spread across his face.
Harry turned my body to face him and I knew I was blushing. Being touchy feely with guys, especially in front of my two best friends, and especially after Andrew was still kind of weird and embarrassing, but I liked it.
"You just made his day, we never let him choose where we go out" he chuckled and I felt arms wrap around my waist. I stared up at him and before I could even protest he was leaning down and pressing his lips against mine.
The cat calls and clapping started behind us and we broke away laughing. I shook my head as I grabbed his hand and I could feel the warmth on my face and the looks I was getting from the girls.
"I got a cab, if you love birds want to get out of this bloody weather" Ed shouted from a bit further down the sidewalk.
We all rushed over and piled in. Harry shouted my address out to driver and I was kind of impressed that he has it memorized already.
"Have you been stalking me Mr. Styles" I whispered to him even though we were sitting all alone in the back of the SUV.
"It isn't stalking if you invite me over Melody, didn't you ever listen to the lessons in school."
We both laughed and I rested my head on his shoulder, the drive to my flat wasn't far and quickly all of the girls were exiting.
"Don't worry, I've got it" Niall said as all of us girls started reaching for our pocketbooks.
I glanced back at Harry and the smirk on his face told me that I was dumb for even trying to pay for my own cabs at this point. I smiled and shook my head as I thanked Niall and pushed the door closed.
"So kissing Harry now are we" Kate asked as we entered the warmth of the building.
"I don't know Kate, you tell me" I laughed sticking my key into the door. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to push them away that easy but at least it kept them quiet for now.
I stopped in the kitchen to turn on a pot of tea while the girls headed to my room. I had started to fill the kettle when a blood curdling scream came from upstairs.
"Melody!"
