There was complete silence except for the beeping of the machines in the sterile room. It was cold and smelled of disinfectant, that was why I had always hated hospitals, they were too clean. After having my head stitched the doctors had requested that I stay overnight just as a precaution. I would much rather be sleeping comfortably in my own bed but I had agreed.

After being assured that I was perfectly fine alone, Harry had allowed a nurse to lead him to get an X-Ray. He had been gone for what felt like forever, Kate and Elsa and had left with Niall and Ed to get dinner and return home, being alone and hurt was the worst. However, I was glad that the other boys had been here to watch out for El and Kate, they had never seen Andrew and me like that, they were shaken up to say the least.

I had taken to counting the electronic sounds as a way to pass the time, after 1,763 the heavy wooden door was pushed open. I raised my head above my body as to see who it was and I was greeted my messy curls and bright yet sleepy green eyes. My nurse followed in behind him, chart in hand.

"Just checking in love and bringing this lad in, we aren't supposed to let anyone back after visiting hours except for family but he claims to be all you've got." She was poking and prodding my extremities and checking the machines and he situated himself in the plastic chair by the window.

I glanced over and he offered me a polite small. "He's telling the truth, thank you for bending the rules. Have a lovely night." She nodded at me with her constant grin and left the room without another word.

"Care if I join you, I am terribly sleepy" he croaked from his seat as the door clicked back closed.

"Well get in" I murmured as I shifted my body over. Moving still hurt a bit but the pain medication had brought it to a slight throb.

He pulled back the scratchy blanket and kicked his brown boots off and they hit the tile floor with a louf clunk. After he had gotten comfortable I felt his fingers lock into mine and he pulled my body into his. My head rested on his chest, his heartbeating my ears and fingers playing with the ends of my hair. He reached behing him and pushed the lights off and now the moonlight shined through the window.

"Mel, I-I'm really sorry" he mumbled into my hair.

"Sorry for me? Yo're the one whose face looks like it has a golf ball lodged into" I chuckled.

"Its not funny Mel. I should have walkled you in like I always do" he said sharply. I could feel the harshness in his face. "I could have saved you if I h-"

"You did save me" I said in my full voice as I pushed my body weight onto my elbow. I leaned forward and brushed my lips gently against his.

I pulled away to see a small smile forming but he didn't actually mean it, the guilt was written in the lines on his face. I returned my head to his chest because the room had started to spin. We laid there entertwined, not speaking, I think we both felt as if enough had been said today as it was. Quickly the drowsiness the doctors told me would kick in was here in full force. My eyes started to feel as if the weight of the world was resting on them.

"It's going to be okay. Goodnight, Harry" I whispered as I shut my eyes for the night.

"Goodnight Melody." He pulled me tight into his chest as to keep from ever getting taken away. It was nice, but I had already been held in too tight before. I didn't need that again.
