"C'mon, lets go and train!" I finish my breakfast and pull Kai with me, bumping into a wall. "You said you would help me today so let's go!"

"Hold on!" He grabs my hand and pulls me in the other direction.

Time Skip to Training Grounds

"There is one way that I can help you in this situation. Unfortunately, there is no way to restore your vision. You'll have to deal with being blind." Kai explains, and I nod.

"This technique is compatible with your chakra type and our kekkei genkai, meaning that you can rely on this technique to help you see all the time. This earth style form of jutsu is something that not many shinobi know. You see, this is a very helpful jutsu when it comes to being blindfolded or kidnapped, which means it can save multiple lives. This technique is held by our clan only. Although others have heard of this and tried to master it, none have ever been able to. It's extremely difficult for someone who can already see, as it demands a lot of the other four senses. If you didn't know, if someone loses a sense, the others become even sharper due to the loss. Even I can't get it, so I'm sorry if I can be vague at times when teaching. Now, without further adoo (idk if thats how one spells it lol), let us begin.
(Sorry for the long and boring paragraph)

I nodded, ready.

"For this technique, not called a jutsu, since it does not require chakra, works with the vibrations in the ground (Avatar the Last Airbender fans be ready bc this is Toph's technique) to 'see' your surroundings. Again, since you cannot see, the other four senses have been honed, meaning that your skin should be sensitive enough to pick up these vibrations through the ground. Now, take off your shoes, and try it."

I do as he says and kick my sandals off somewhere I can't see. "So, first, I'll try to sense the sandals that I kicked somewhere, and then try something smaller, like bugs or something?"

"Yup, perfect." He assures me. "Remember, this must not become just second nature, but a part of first nature. If you're going to rely on this for almost everything, then you need to train hard enough for this technique to always be in action, even if you're thinking about something else, just like eyesight."

"Mhm."

I focus. In this black void, I try to sense the smallest of vibrations, and send out my own. "I can see the grass again..." I say. "The sandals are here, too..." I walk over to them and pick them up.

"Wow, you got that quick," Kai says.

"Yeah, I guess I did. Thanks, Kai." I walk over and hug him.

"Oh, I forgot that you could see me again," he laughs.

I laugh with him, and for the rest of the morning, I train as hard as possible. The best part of this training is that I can never get tired- it doesn't require chakra or any type of taijutsu. Just the mind and senses.

3rd Person POV

[Y/N] was not aware of the 3 genin who were eavesdropping on her training. Kai knew, obviously, but thought nothing of them as he continued to teach his little sister.

"Woah, that looks super cool. Can I try i-" Naruto was cut off as Sasuke covered his mouth with his hand.

"Shh, she doesn't know we're here. We have to be quiet."

"Yeah, Sasuke's right!" Sakura whisper-yelled in agreement.

"Hey, Sasuke, Sakura, Naruto. What's up?" [Y/N] called out to them.

"Oh, uh, we were training!" Naruto nervously replies. She can see us!

"Yeah, yeah! Training!" Sakura follows along. Looks like she's still gonna be part of team 7...

"Hn." Sasuke only nods. It's nice to see that she can 'see' again.(ba dum tsss)

"Hey, mind if I join you?" She asks. "Don't worry, I'll be fine."

~~time skip to when they meet Kakashi~~

"Sorry, a black cat crossed my path."

"Not the time, Kashi..." I grumble.

"I said I was sorry..."

"Whatever."

"Well, it looks like your whole 'situation' has been figured out and solved. I talked with Kai, he gave you permission to go on more missions. Just take it easy for now. And one more thing... I nominate all four of you for the chuunin exams."

He handed them each a piece of paper.

[Y/N]'s POV

I sighed as I stared at the 'empty' paper.

"Kakashi, y'know, since I can see through the vibrations and stuff... i can see the paper, but not the words on it... so this is kinda useless."

"Oh."

They all sweatdropped.

"Well, Sasuke, could you help me fill this out? I would ask Kakashi or Kai, but I don't wanna bother them. And Naruto... he's out of the question. I also don't want Sakura filling it out because I feel like I'm on her bad side and she's gonna write something weird about me behind my back."

"Sure."

And so we took a seat on a bench somewhere, and he proceeded to ask me the questions, scribbling my answers on the paper in neat handwriting.

"It asks for not just your name, but your family as well. Could you tell me their names and relation to you?" Sasuke questions.

I nod. "Kimiko Sekozawa; mother. Naozumi Nakamura; uncle. Kai Sekozawa; brother."

"That it?" Sasuke asks, and I nod again. "What about your dad...?"

I tense up. "I never met him... but my mom says he was a good man. I trust those words. I just wish I could know him myself."

"Sorry about that."

"Thanks." I sigh. "Well, we should get that paper finished right?" I ask, beginning to tear up.

Suddenly, his arms wrap around my shoulders in a sincere embrace. "Huh?" I ask, genuinely surprised in his actions.

"You're not the only one who has family problems. Don't worry about it."

I hug him back. "Awww, lil' Ducky is so sympathetic..."

"Shut up."

And so we complete the entrance form.

"Thanks, Sasuke," I say. "It's getting pretty dark, so I should get back to the compound. Kai and the rest must be worried."

"Let me walk you home."

"Huh? But it's late, don't you have anywhere to be?"

"Nope."

"Alright then... but you don't have to..." I agree.

On our walk to my home, we end up chatting about our favorite foods. "Tomato is definitely a favorite food of mine, too. I have no idea why other's don't like it," I tell Sasuke as we stroll through the streets.

"We're here," I tell him. "Thanks so much."

"It was nothing. I'll see you tomorrow for training." He begins to walk away.

"Hold on!" I say. I grab his arm, kiss him on the cheek, and run inside before I can see his reaction.
