HAVE I EVER THANKED ANY OF YOU FOR THIS

HELL NO BITCHES

...and I feel like a dick lmAO

I'D LIKE TO EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE BY MAKING THIS CHAPTER

I also didn't really write because this is one of the most difficult arcs to write since there's so much intense shit

Oh well let's go)

"In. Out." I sigh, letting large gulps of air fill my lungs before exhaling, my eyelids shadowing over my {color} eyes. This was it.

I tie my bandages around my head before I adjust my weapon pouch and count through a list in my mind of all the items I would require. This was probably going to be one of the hardest parts of ranking up.

But I was ready.

I complete my final stretches before I meet up with my team, munching on an apple as a light breakfast.

I hold out my hand as to offer all three of my teammates high fives. Only Naruto accepts, but I didn't make much of it.

"Stay focused, [Y/N]," Sasuke reminds.

I nod before grinning. "Thanks for asking, Sasuke. I appreciate you caring about my well being. I've never been better."

He only rolls his eyes before turning his head in the other direction, my response of quiet giggling resonating in the silence of the group.

Naruto mirrors his grin to match mine.

That's the spirit. One down, two to go.

"Sakura. Don't get too worked up, okay? We're always here for you, even if you don't want us there, heh. You can count on us." I hold out my fist. She doesn't accept it, but gleefully flashes the smile I was fishing for.

The last person wouldn't be easy to mess with, but I was stuck on giving us all a good omen before we head to the grounds to sign papers and accept our scrolls.

"Oi. Duck. I bet I can get a scroll before you can."

"Try me," he smirks. "We'll see when we go into that forest."

I nod vigorously. It was a smirk, but it was better than his emotionless face. For all you know, he could be hiding quite the emotions behind his silly mask.

"Alright then. Let's head out. Oh; one more thing," I reach into my bag and pull out three more apples. "Don't head into that forest hungry, you dorks. You probably woke up so early that you didn't eat."

"You're right on that one," Naruto laughs.

(Im half asleep so I spelt Naruto as naturot I'm cryign)

We make our way over to meet the other genin that we were to compete with. I didn't need to be too attentive to know that people were staring. Those who didn't get the chance to view me during the last test glanced over every few seconds, my figure falling prey to their watchful glares. Or, rather... They seemed like glares. They were quite intimidating. I simply ignore them to my best ability.

Anko takes each group one by one as they hand in their forms and in return are given scrolls. Our group was not up yet, so in the meantime, I chat with the rest of team seven.

"Naruto. Calm the fuck down." I could feel the vibrations of his beating heart through the ground going very quickly, and I could faintly sense him shaking as well.

"Such vulgar language for a lady," Sasuke comments with a scoff.

I roll my eyes. "It's not as if you wouldn't do it either; but you care about your reputation around the other chuunin, unlike me."

It was his turn to roll his onyx eyes.

I smirk.

"Anyways," Naruto begins, "won't [Y/N] have trouble finding out whether the enemy scroll is a heaven or earth one? She might risk time and energy on a scroll we don't need."

"That's the first thing that's come out of your mouth that's even near smart," Sasuke chuckles, "but he's right. Someone will have to be her eyes."

"Hey! I'm not helpless! I have my own strategy for finding out the scrolls. And it's completely reliable. It could also be helpful for other things." I smile.

The three of them send a questioning glance my way.

"I'll tell you when nobody's around, like when we're in the tent receiving our scroll. It's more useful when kept a secre-"

"Team 7, konoha. You four, over here. It's your turn."

"Speak of the devil," I grin. "Let's go."

As soon as we arrive in the tent, Anko hands Sasuke a scroll. "Heaven," he says.

"So we're looking for an earth scroll." I nod."while you guys are looking for a place to hide that on your person, I'll tell you."

They eagerly shift their attention to me.

"It's this thing that has to do with how I do everything now that I'm blind. You are all aware that I 'see' through the vibrations in the ground, right?" The three of them nod.

"So, I'll simply ask them what type of scroll they have."

"That's stupid! What if they lie?" Sakura scoffs.

"She has a point." Sasuke.

"Hey, hey. I'm not done. Here's the genius part," I pause. "Remember when I told Naruto to calm down not too long ago?"

"Crystal clear, [y/n]. You cursed at me." Naruto squints at me.

"Yup. I could tell he was nervous because of the vibrations of his beating heart."

"I still don't see where this is going," Sasuke sighs.

"Wow, I thought you were the smart one, Sasuke. Anyways, when I ask the nin to tell me their scroll, I can tell from their heartbeat if they're lying." I smirk. "I can tell you're all surprised right now because of your hearts. Idiots."

"Hey!" Naruto protests. "I'm not an idiot!"

"The biggest lie you've ever told me, Naruto. Also, this 'lie detection' can be used for much more than just the scrolls. Like if you plan on making a truce with another team, I can check if they're not trustworthy. Perfect, I know."

Sasuke simply nods. "The scroll is going in my pouch," he says this time with a whisper before slipping it into it's designated area.

We head out, and the rest of the teams finish getting their scrolls. We line up around the gates of the forest of death.

My heart pounding, my breath a bit quicker, it all seemed so surreal. I stretch one more time. I'm ready, I tell myself. Ready to lose? No, I shake my head.

Ready to win.
