(*blows the dust off the story*
Holy cheesus im
I havent been updating as often as before)
I listen closely to the instructions described through the headphones. Whoever was recording themselves reading this seemed pretty nervous. They had a bit of an accent that I couldn't put my finger on, and there was an awkward silence between sentences. Maybe I'm thinking about the speaker too much.
I begin to focus more on the words they were saying, rather than how they said it, and began to work out math problems in my head.
An imaginary chalkboard was in my mind and I imagined Kai scribbling the answers to the equation on it in his thin, neat handwriting. If he wasn't a ninja, he would be a caligraphy artist.
Though I knew that the answers came from my own mind, my conscious decided to tell it to me through an image of my brother.
Thanks, bro. I mentally thank him.
I write my answers down in a rushed, sloppy cursive as I relied on muscle memory to write the characters correctly.
I whiz through the test, and soon enough, I reached the ninth question, the last one before that anonymous 'tenth question' Ibiki had told us about.
I had noticed that two sentries got up and walked over to me, suspicious looks on both of their faces as they take several glances between themselves, then to me, and then to themselves again.
I secretly and silently hyperventilate in place in an attempt to calm myself down. Don't worry. You've got this. You're not getting kicked out for cheating because you did nothing wrong.
Then, I suddenly smirk. Even if I was cheating, there's no way they could find out because I was blind. I can't read off of others' papers, and cheating through vision is how most would do in this situation. And even if I was listening to the sounds of pencil on paper, that wouldn't work because 1. I wouldn't know what question they were on, and
2. I can't listen because these headphones were noise cancelling. The sentries must have noticed because they began to facepalm and go back to their seats on opposite sides of the room.
I giggle a bit, both at their stupidity, and at the fact that this so called 'test' was so easy. I estimated I took about fifteen minutes on this test, and Ibiki gave us about an hour, more or less. I have a lot of time left.
I notice everyone staring at me, their jaws almost touching the floor. I had the urge to ask, "what?" And since I forgot about the fact that we weren't allowed to talk, I did so.
Ibiki glared.
"Oops, sorry..." I mumble to myself.
This leaves me to think about the next two tests.
As soon as I became a genin, I automatically had my eyes set on Chuunin. At that point, I began studying so that I knew the Chuunin exams in and out better than a ninja who's been through this several times.
Next up is the Forest of Death. All I know is that we're going into a scary forest, though I don't know what our task is in there. Nonetheless, I hypothesize that there will be a battle in there. And if not, there's definitely battles in the third test.
Since I don't know the other teams' strengths and/or weaknesses, I decide to assess my own so that I will know if there is anything in particular that I must worry for, making me prepared.
I know that my obsidian release is the best against ninjutsu, which leaves me invincible against most attacks. Though, as I had seen with that Lee boy, he's really good at taijutsu. And I bet others are too.
