chapter 3

     Throughout the whole day, I've managed to ignore Matt. I knew I was going to have to face him sooner or later but I choose later. I still could not believe what happened in the hallway and the fact that I kissed him back was so humiliating.

"Hey, you ready to go?" Lisa asked as her and Katelyn came up to me.

"Um... Actually, I'm going Kate's way."

"why?" Lisa and Kate both asked in union.

I bit my lip, "Um, well, I kind of have to tutor somebody," I said nervously.

"Who?" Lisa asked.

"You don't know him," the lie fell out of my mouth before I could even think about it. they both gave me a disbelieving look.

"He's in my science class," I said quickly naming the one class they don't have with me. "Well got to go!" I said grabbing Kate and quickly walking away from Lisa's carious gaze, my chest tightens as I realize that I just lie to one of my best friends.

"Okay, spit it out!!" Kate said.

"What?" I asked, turning to look at her.

"You know what Casie! I mean, you just lied to your best friends!" she said and almost  instantly, guilt filled me.

"I didn't want you guys to blow it out of proportion!" I said

"Just tell me. You know I'll support you no matter what," she said and I sighed.

"Okay, remember the sleep over I had at your house? When you made me kiss Matt and I had to leave early?" I asked and she nodded rolling her eyes.

"Well it was because my mom was having guest over," I explained the whole story from that day until now. I even told her about the kiss against the locker.

"Oh my God! No effing way!" she squealed causing me to smile. I knew she would act this way.

"I knew it! You totally like him and he so likes you!" she shouted and I quickly shook my head.

"No, I don't like him... I mean, I'm not stupid. I know he's a player, but I just like kissing him," I said as I bite my lips waiting for her reaction.

"So... It's more of a friends with benefits kind of reaction?" she asked and I nodded.

"Hey, Kate... You can't tell Lisa about this... She made me swear to stay away from him and I don't want her to get mad," I said and she sighed reluctantly.

"You do know you'll have to tell her soon," she asked and I nodded.

"I know, but I don't think this is the right time," I said. We had stopped walking and I didn't realize we were at Matt's house.

"Okay, so I'll see you later?" she asked and I nodded.

"Call me if you need a ride home," she said and I smiled.

"Thanks Kate," I said before I went and knocked on the door. Matt opened the door shirtless, just like the day we first kissed. I ripped my gaze from his abs as my face turned bright red.

"Hey," I said as I stepped into the house.

"What took you so long?" he asked.

"I walked," I said as he closed the door behind me.

"You could have asked me for a ride," he said and I shook my head.

"Where's your mom?" I asked as we got in the living room.

"She's not here," he said shrugging.

"I thought you said she was expecting me?" I asked as I started to get angry.

"I lied," he said carelessly.

"Are you kidding me?" I asked in disbelief.

"look-"

he started but I cut him off, "No! I'm out of here." I scoffed and turned to leave. Before I got far, a hand grabbed me. He turned me around to face him.

"Matt let me-"

He cut me off with a kiss. His lips was so soft and I so wanted to give in to his kiss, but I knew I couldn't.  I quickly pushed him away.

"You can't just keep doing that!" I shouted frustrated.

"Why are you making this such a big deal?" he asked.

"Because you lied!" I yelled.

"I just wanted to be alone with you... I didn't want to be in a library full of people. God, this is so stupid!" he yelled while my expression softened.

"You could have just told me," I said.

"Would you have come?" he asked.

"Well no, but at least you'd try," I said he sighed.

"can we just start?" he asked and I nodded.

                          ***

1 hour later and we were still working on his math work. I sighed and erased the work for the hundredth time.

"How can you not know this, Matt?" I asked stressed.

"Ugh, can we just take a break? My mind is fried!" he said, stressed. I sighed as I massaged my temples.

"Fine, one more problem," I said and he groaned.

"Tell you what... If you get this problem right, you can have anything you want," I said.

"Anything?" Matt asked as a smirk made it's way to his face. I gulped quickly regretting my words, but I nodded assuring him. He smile and quickly took the paper and redid number 8. A minute later, he was handing me the paper back.

"Done!" he said, grinning cheerily. My eyes scanned the paper and I smiled when I saw he got it right.

"Okay, what do you want?" I asked. He pretended to think for a second then smiled again.

"I want You to kiss me."
