Kellin's POV

I blushed as Vic chuckled at me.
"Aww don't get shy on me now." He said and I hid my face in my hands.
"I'm not." I mumbled and he laughed again.
"Do yo-"
"Kellin!" I heard and I jumped up from my spot on the steps to see my Mom coming out of the house.
"Ohh who's this?" She said looking Vic up and down.
"I work for your husband Ma'am." Vic said politely.
"You're the Mexican that lives in the guest house." She said and pointed a freshly manicured nail at him before popping her hip out to the side and resting her hand there as she looked at Vic.
"Uh yea."
"How come I don't see you around often hun?" She said and walked closer, rubbing a hand up and down his arm. I sent her a look and she just smiled at me.
"I'm not sure."
"Well we'll have to change that."
"Mom let's go." I said and grabbed her arm pulling her into the house.

"Kellin, what's the rush?" She huffed and I rolled my eyes.
"What did you want?" I crossed my arms and she took a moment to straighten out her dress before looking back up at me.
"You're my little boy and I wanted to see you that's all." She said and I once again rolled my eyes.
"Yea okay." I knew better than to believe that she actually wanted to see me.
"Fine. I just wanted a look at whoever that was." She said and rolled her eyes at me. I guess that's where I get it from.

"Yea well maybe try and keep your dress on. Ya know Dads always there to take care of those needs."
"Kellin you don't understand!" She said in a snarky tone. "I love your father, I do, but we know everything about each other and that gets boring after a while. If you actually slept with anyone you would understand. Plus your father doesn't mind." She huffed.
"Yea cause he's blind."
"Go to your room!" She yelled.
"I'm nineteen!"
"You live under my roof!"

"What's going on?" My dad said coming through the door of the house.
"Your son's being a brat." Mom scoffed.
"Kellin please don't mess with your mother. Go to your room or something." He said dismissively and Mom smirked at me. I just shook my head and turned around and went up the stairs to my room.

I went over and sat in my window. I looked over the yard and to the guest house. Vic was leaning against the railing and staring up at my window. I waved at him and he smiled, waving back. I sat in the window and just look at him as he stood there. He look back at me and our gaze never broke. That was until the maid from earlier skipped across the yard and pulled Vic towards the main house.

I leant back and sighed. I really didnt want to be here right now, I didn't really feel welcome, but I didn't really have anywhere else to go. I could go out to town but I would probably just end up roaming the streets aimlessly. I laid my head against the window and before I knew it I had fell asleep.

~

I woke up on the floor and I realized I must have fell out of the window at some point. I glanced at the clock on my night stand and the red letters showed that it was 2 am. I stretched before running a hand through my hair and making my way down the stairs to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and ended up grabbing a tub of some unknown pasta. I heated it and at first decided to sit at the table but ended up outside on the porch.

I sat on the porch swing criss-cross apple sauce to make a table for my bowl. I munched on the noodles silently as I looked out over the yard. As I looked over at the guest house I noticed all the lights were off but there was a faint glow on the porch. It was near the steps so I knew it wasn't a porch light of some sort. Maybe Vic was up.

"Vic." I called out quietly so I wouldn't wake anyone up. It was ridiculous to think he could actually hear me from all the way over here but hey it was worth trying. I got up from my seat and made my way across the yard, still eating the noodles. Once I got close enough I did a mental happy dance because it was Vic sitting on his porch.

I plopped down beside him and he let out a soft chuckle.
"Hey." I said and crossed My legs again to make a place for my noodles to sit.
"Hey Kells." He said and look at me. I could faintly see the edges of his face in the dim light but even then they seemed perfect. "What're you doing up?" He asked and placed his hand on my thigh where he began to draw circles gently. It wasn't in a sexual way at all, just a really comfortable feeling.
"I woke up." I shrugged my shoulders and held a noddle out to him on my fork. "Want some?"
He laughed again and nodded his head. He opened his mouth and I stuck the sauce covered noodle in.
"Here give me that." He said and took the bowl from me.
"Hey!" I pouted causing him to laugh.
"Open up you whiny nineteen year old."
"No way you short twenty-five year old." I said with a smug grin.

"How can you talk about my height when I'm taller than you?" He said and stuck the noodle he had been holding out for me into his mouth.
"Just shush and give me my food." I grumbled and he laughed before handing me the bowl and fork. I ate in silence and Vic resumed rubbing circles on my thigh.

Once I was done I sat the bowl on the porch and looked up at the sky. It was filled with thousands of stars and sparkled like the diamond ring my Mom had gotten from my Dad so many years ago.
"The stars are so pretty." I said quietly and I felt Vic nod as he looked up at them. My head fell on Vic's shoulder and pretty soon my eyes were fluttering shut.
