Here's a chapter for you lovely little creatures enjoy 😘
Kellin's POV
"You have no choice but to come!" My Mom yelled at me from my room door.
"Mom please don't yell." I said and rubbed my head before coughing. I had gotten sick overnight and honestly felt like crap. I was coughing and running a fever along with a horrible stomach ache. I was positive it was just a 24 hour thing but that didn't mean I was in good enough shape to go to some snotty nosed event.
"I am your mother and I'll do what I want and you'll do what I say! Now you need to be dressed, in a tux, in thirty minutes. If you aren't you better believe you will be in trouble mister." She said and left the room, slamming the door behind her.I groaned and ran a hand through my hair before heaving myself off my bed and slowly walking to my closet. I was 19 and it makes sense in my mind that I should be allowed to decided whether or not to go to these events but there was a catch. They were paying for college. Sure I was supposed to help my Dad run the business, whatever exactly it was, and would have money but right now it was all in my Dads hands. So until I graduated I was kinda just stuck doing what they wanted of the summer. During the school year they never bothered me, not once.
I hopped into the shower quickly, after laying my suit out, hoping to wash away how icky I felt. I quickly dried my hair and slipped the outfit on before going down the stairs to see my Mom pulling her strappy heels over her fake tanned feet.
"You're Dads already in the car, come on." She said and rushed me out the door.Once everyone was settled the driver took off and I leaned my head against the window wishing it was way cooler in the overpriced vehicle.
"Kellin you don't look so well." My dad said and I opened my mouth to speak but my Mom decided to answer for me.
"He's fine." She said in a conversation ending tone. My dad simply nodded his head and I sighed before turning my attention back to the window. I'm not even at the event yet and I already want it to be over.I sat at my seat staring down at the plate of food in front of me as my stomach churned. I couldn't eat it. Even if I was starving I couldn't eat it right now. My stomach felt like it was behind punched and twirled around and the smell and sight was only making it worse. I placed my elbows on the table, resting my head in my hands, and closed my eyes. I felt a hard jab in my ribs and that almost sent me over the edge. I took a moment to catch my breath and then turned to look at my Mom, who was giving me a death glare.
"Kellin," she whispered harshly. "You're being rude. Sit up and eat."
"Mom I can't I'm sic-"
"Stop with the act!"
"Honey he looks like he's going to be sick all over the table. Lighten up." My Dad said and gave me sympathetic look, probably the first time in his entire life. "Kellin you're excused, find a ride home and get some rest." He said and I quickly nodded my head and got up from the table. The cool air felt nice on my feverish skin and I leaned again the railing outside a moment before grabbing my phone. There was two people I could call, Miranda or Vic. Miranda was probably busy with her actual kids or grandkids and the most Vic could be doing is drinking at some club. Without a second thought I dialed Vic's number and let it ring. And ring and ring, until I thought he wasn't going to pick up. I was getting ready to end the call when a groggy voice spoke.
"Hello? Kellin?" His voice was laced with sleep and I could just see him sitting up, hair a mess and strewn everywhere, rubbing his eyes and trying to clear any trace of sleep from his voice.
"Hey Vic." I said with a smile, even though I knew he couldn't see me. "Do you think you could come get me?"
"Of course Kells. Where are you?" He asked and I heard the sound of him shuffling around, probably looking for clothes.
"The big banquet hall in the middle of the city." I said and bit my lip.
"Okay Princess I'll be right there." He said and ended the call. For a few thankful minutes after the call I didn't feel sick anymore just happy that I talked to Vic but it seemed even as great as Vic was he couldn't keep my stomach from rolling. I took a seat on the steps and pulled my jacket around me tighter. The cool breeze that was blowing was making my teeth chatter instead of cooling my feverish head. I didn't have to deal with it long because I saw Vic's old truck pull up and I jumped in and instantly turned up the heat.
"Kells are you okay?" He asked looked at me intently and I shook my head.
"I'm sick."
"That's not good. Let's get back and I'll take care of you."
"Vic," I said with a small smile. "You don't have to."
"Yes. Yes I do. Your parents sure aren't going to take care of you and I know you hate doctors. So shush and let nurse Bic pamper you." I laughed at him and laid back in my seat suddenly feeling hotter than the freaking sun. It's going to be a long night.
