"Hi, I'm Clarie." The little girl says.

"Hello, I'm Bentleigh." Bentleigh smiled as she giggles. She knew this had to be the one Quil was talking about because when she walked up to them she was hiding behind Quil's legs shyly as Bentleigh greeted him.

"You've got really pretty hair." She says with a shy smile."

No," Bentleigh says waving her comment off. "You've got the prettiest hair," she replies. Her shy smile turns into a wide toothy grin. She sat beside Bentleigh and asked her a lot of questions.

"Are you Quil's girlfriend?" She asked making Bentleigh let out a laugh.

"No sweets, I'm not. Just a close friend of his." She says after she finished laughing.

"How long have you been friends with Quil?" She asked.

"Well, how old are you?"

"Five." She replied with a wide and proud smile.

"Since we were about your age," Bentleigh answered her honestly.

"Really?" She exclaimed making the older girl laugh, she nodded.

"In a way, we were in diapers together," Bentleigh responded, she giggled.

They sat there a while watching the waves roll in and the seagulls fly overhead. Standing up with Clarie, they went to Quil to see if they could go on a walk, who said yes. She glanced over at Seth as Clarie attacked Quil's legs hugging him tightly in thanks. Seth met her gaze and she smiled softly at him.

Clarie grabbed her hand pulling her away from the boys happily. After a few minutes, Quil ran up to Bentleigh and Clarie as they played in the water. The child giggled when she saw him, reaching out for him. Gladly, he took her from Bentleigh before he looked at his best friend with a small smile.

"He wants to talk to you." He says and she nods walking over to Seth.

"Let's go for a walk." He suggested.

She agrees turning and walking the opposite direction of Quil. Quil could still hear them so if something happened, he'd be able to stop it. They kept walking and she noticed the sun was starting to set.

Bentleigh gazed out over at the water taking in the breathtaking view as they walked along the water. Then the question popped into her head as to why they were walking. "So what'd you wanna talk about?" She asked breaking the silence between the two of them.

He sighed as he stopped walking. "I want you to know that if you didn't want anything to happen after this, I'm good with being your friend, just know I'm here for you."

What was he going on about? She looked at him as if he grew another head. She wasn't catching on to anything he was saying. He got closer, leaving an inch or two between them. He looked down at her letting his hands fall to his side.

"I have to try this." He said, stepping closer to her.

He closed the gap between them and placed his hands softly on either side of Bentleigh's face and started to lean in. Staying frozen in her place, as their lips touched. She felt her eyes fluttered shut and butterflies erupt in her stomach. Their lips moved in sync.

She would be lying if she said that she didn't feel anything. Bentleigh couldn't believe this was happening. For 1) this is one of her brothers best friends and 2) from the time she met him to now she was out for those few days. Pulling away slowly, she bit her lip restraining herself from doing it again. Seth rested his forehead on hers and moved one of his hands to the side of her neck.

"We should probably get going," she suggests softly earning a sigh from him.

"Okay," He said disappointingly, looking at her with his brown eyes. "C'mon I'll get you home."
