THIRTY-SIX

After Carlisle re-broke Bentleigh's leg, she couldn't take any of the pain, even with Jasper using his gift and trying to rid her of it. The girl ended up passing out from the amount of pain. She could tell they were all worried. But when Bentleigh woke, Seth was sitting in a chair he had pulled up next to the bed.

He held hee hand as his head laid on her hip while he slept. She squeezed his hand a bit before carefully removing it from his grip. Even with just her slight movement, he stirred in his sleep and sat up stretching before turning his head in her direction as he rubbed his eyes with the heel of his hands. When he looked at down at her, his eyes grew wide at the sight of her as he jumped up from his chair and wrapped her into a tight embrace.

Bentleigh sucked in a deep breath as she winced in pain causing Seth to pull away quickly. "I'm sorry, love. I didn't mean to hurt you again. You had us all worried. How are you feeling?" He questioned with sorrowful eyes.

"I'm fine, just have some pain still. How long have I been out?"

"A few hours, not that long really. Carlisle says you can go home later on if you're feeling up to it. If not, Esme said she'd cook for you." Seth informs Bentleigh causing her to nod. "We found your mom by the way." Seth adds making her drop her gaze to her hands.

"What about her?"

"We chased her Southeast of here, further down into the states. We almost got to the panhandle of Oklahoma before we caught her. We surrounded her but Embry's the one who got her. When Jacob finally called him off, she was gone, so we came back. Embry and Nova were here but they've gone back to the house to get some sleep. All in all, it's been a long day and a half." Seth explained.

"So, you're telling me she's gone for good?" She questioned Seth making him nod. She leaned her head back into her pillow and closed her eyes, letting out a heavy sigh.

"Embry was going to tell you, that way it would be coming from him as he's the one who did it, but you know how he is with the Cullen's," Seth said making her nod once again as she opened her eyes and slipped her hand in his, giving it a reassuring squeeze.

"It's okay, I understand why he did it. But are you okay? Every time something like this happens you get extremely worried over little things."

He nodded his head, bringing her hand up to his lips and kissing her knuckles. She moved over in the uncomfortable hospital bed and patted the space next to her. Seth stood up from his chair and laid down in the space beside her. Carefully, she rolled onto her side and wrapped an arm around Seth's torso and laying her head on his chest.

He kissed the top of her head and carefully pulled her closer to his side without hurting her in any way. They laid there in a comfortable silence before falling back to sleep in each other's arms.

After a while Bentleigh was able to go home, Seth helped her to the car and drove them home. When they got there, everyone who knew about her coming home ran out of the house and surrounding Bentleigh, all of them talking at once making her brain become all mushy. She couldn't take much of it and gave them all a small glare causing the large group goes quiet.

"No one in their right mind could ever keep up with all of you talking at once. Calm down, I was only gone for a few hours, I know for a fact I didn't miss that much. And before you say anything else about her, I know about her but I'm not phased by it or anything." Not saying anything they all nodded their heads before they all walked inside going down to the basement and sitting around the home theatre.

"So what did you lot have planned for today?" Bentleigh questioned looking at everyone who became silent and avoided eye contact with her.

Looking at Seth who sat next to her, he shrugged his shoulders. "Don't look at me, I've been with you since I got back. Whatever they're doing, I'm not part of it in any way, shape, or form."

Turning her attention to Paul, Embry, and Nova, all looked anywhere but her. Rolling her eyes, she gave up trying knowing well enough that she wouldn't get anything from them. That was before a thought popped into her head. Shaking her head, she threw the throw pillow from the couch at Embry which bounced off his head and hit Paul in the side of the face. They both grabbed their heads and groaned in annoyance giving her a playful glare. She only smirked before going back to the original reason she threw the pillow at them.

"You know the rule. I hate doing anything huge on my birthday so whatever you've got going in your head, lose that thought because it isn't going to happen." She tells them causing them to roll their eyes as Nova finally turned her attention over to Bentleigh.

"Just this one time, please. Let us do this one nice thing for you. It'll get your mind off of everything that has been happening as of late and stressing you out. Besides we've already begun to plan it all out for your birthday. You'll have fun and I talked to Lott about it and she says she'll help out but Parker wasn't happy about it." She spoke up making Bentleigh let out a groan of annoyance as she rolled her eyes and laid her head on Seth's shoulder looking up at him.

"End my misery now. I beg of you." She pleaded whilst batting her eyelashes at him. He only shook his head causing me to let out another sigh of annoyance making Seth chuckle.

"And of course Parker hated that your doing something crazy. He knows what I mean." Bentleigh adds making Nova shake her head at her, squinting her eyes.
