“How did you get your hair like that?”

I laugh and re-apply more lip gloss to my lips.

“I don’t know, I just used my straightener to straighten my hair and then I just curled it a bit so I could have some lose curls.” I reply while looking at my best friend Lauren through the mirror.

She nods her head and goes back to straightening her hair carefully.

“Oi what time does this thing start again?” Danica asks while applying the third layer of mascara to her eye lashes.

“Thing? This isn’t just a thing Danny, it’s our Valadictory dinner! It’s last thing we will ever do as year twelves!” Abby exclaims in horror.

“Whatever.” She replies while rolling her eyes.

I look over at Lauren and we both grin at each other. Abby has been obsessing over our Valadictory for ages, making sure we have ‘appropriate’ dresses and making sure we know the exact plans for when we get there. I guess we are all pretty excited about it, but because we have been talking about it so much, we just want to get there.

“Oh and to answer your question Danny, it starts at six o clock.” Abby says while puffing up her curly hair.

“Oi Abby!” Lilly says while walking into the bathroom.

“Yes?” Abby and I answer at the same time.

Yeah Abby and I have the same, though our full names are spelt different, thank god. We usually call her Abby and me Ab, it just makes it easier.  Lilly smiles, shakes her head and looks at me.

“Can I borrow your straightener?” she asks while running her fingers through her hair.

“Yeah sure, Lauren’s just finishing up with it now.” I reply while putting my hoop earrings in.

As I stare at myself in the mirror, I study myself intently. My lips look full and plump and my eye lashes look long and dark. My face looks like it’s glowing and I literally feel like I‘m going to explode with excitment. This is going to be one good night.

“Pass me the bottle!” Lauren asks while giggling.

I hand her the bottle and she giggles again.

“This is so awesome, we are in a limo and we have free champagne!” she says while filling her glass up.

Everyone stops talking and we all look at Lauren in amusement. She thinks we are drinking champagne, it’s half true but what she doesn’t know is that it’s non-alcoholic champagne. I chuckle and sip my drink.

 “Lauren, you do know that the champagne is alcohol free, right?” Abby questions with a smirk.

 Lauren looks down at the bottle in her hand and then back up at all of us with a confused look on her face. I can’t help but laugh, she is funny. Everyone else starts to laugh too and Lauren starts to blush slightly.

 “Oh, well, yeah. Of course I knew that.” She responds while handing the bottle to Danica.

"Yeah yeah, you liar. You thought we were drinking champagne!” Lilly says while laughing.

 Lauren shrinks down in her seat and sips her drink. Lilly and I look at each other and high five. I can’t believe we are only ten minutes away from our Valadictory, we have been waiting so long and to finally be nearly there is really exciting. I start to smile wildly and Danica eyes me off with a smile.
