Nathan and Abigail (No Longer being updated)

Chapter 3.

"You girls look amazing!" Danica's Mum exclaims and we all grin at each other.

"Yeah, I totally agree! We all look very pretty!" I respond as we all sit down at the table.

Our parents have just recently arrived, and we had gotten up to greet them. Our table is massive, considering we have all of our parents sitting with us.

"I thought Nathan would have been joining us.” Mum says with a smirk.

Before I even get a chance to reply, Lauren decides to say something.

"No Carrie, he's over there with his friends, we didn't want him to hog her the whole night." she says while trying to hide her smirk.

I roll my eyes at her and Mum looks between us two.

"You haven't even left us alone the whole night! Are we ever going to get some privacy?" I ask sharply.

"If you're lucky." Abby pipes up from the other side of Lauren.

I shake my head at both of them and Lilly wraps her arm around my shoulders, smiling sympathetically.

"It'll be Ok, you will get some time alone with him." she whispers while patting my shoulder.

I smile back at her and sip my drink. Before anyone else says anything, the principle starts to talk again. Great, a night of listening to this monster drum on about how she is 'so proud of us' and that 'we will be missed' I bet she re-uses the speech every year.

I sigh and yawn loudly. Mum shakes her head at me and gives me a warning glare. That's right, the parents are here, we can't get away with 'naughty' things now. I grin at Mum and she shakes her head at me. I giggle under my breath and I vaguely listen to the principal.

"Ok, now it's time to present the awards to our graduates of 2014. When your name is called, please come up the steps on the left side of the stage and collect your award from me."

Danica looks over at me and grins wildly. I smile back at her and Lauren grabs my hand from under the table. As Mrs Cartwright calls out people's names, I start moving my leg up and down nervously, anxiously waiting for my name to be called. 

"Danica Andrews!" Mrs Cartwright booms through the microphone.

Danica gets up from her chair with a nervous look on her face and everyone on our table starts clapping wildly. Danica walks up the stairs and takes the award from Mrs Cartwright. She looks over at our table and I grin back at her.

I look over at her parents and you can tell they are proud of their daughter as they are both grinning happily. I smile at them and then I look back at the stage to see Danica smiling brightly at someone at our table. I follow her gaze and my eyes land on Will, who is starring back at her with a beaming smile. I chuckle quietly to myself and shake my head slightly, they so like each other. As I look back over at the Mrs Cartwright again, another one of our friends’ names gets called out.

"Jacob Hunter!"

Everyone on our table starts to clap loudly and I'm pretty sure I hear someone whistle from another table. Jake makes his way up to the stage with a grin on his face and I see Abby clapping like a mad woman.

"Oh my god, look at Abby! It looks like she is going to burst with happiness." Lauren whispers above the loud clapping.

I nod enthusiastically back at her and we laugh quietly. The claps finally die down and Mrs Cartwright continues with reading out people’s names.

"Abigail Smith!"

I take in a sharp breath and stand up from my chair quickly, feeling extremely nervous. I weave in and out of tables and I glance up at the stage to see Jake, Danica, Lilly and most importantly, Nathan, staring at me with wide smiles. Nathan is clapping like a mad man and he winks at me. I smile shyly back at him, hating the fact that most people in this room right now are staring at me.
