"I'm sorry!" Lauren says teasingly while bumping in to Nathan and me, bringing me to the present time.
I send her a warning glare, and she laughs hysterically, along with Danica.
I look up at Nathan and he is trying to hide his smirk.
"Friends these days." I say while shaking my head.
Nathan decides to smirk and he embraces me tightly.
"Just remember, they are your friends."
Now it's his turn to get a glare from me and he looks innocent almost instantly. I try to hide my smile, but I can't hide anything from him.
He reaches down and grabs my hand, and pulls me along toward his table. I can see his Mum, Rachel, sitting at the table with his Dad, Paul.
As we get nearer to the table, Rachel looks over and waves at us. She is such a lovely person, its obvious where Nathan gets his kindness from. Paul is a quiet kind of guy, he doesn't really talk much, but when he does, we have pretty interesting conversations.
"Hello darling, you look very pretty tonight." Rachel says warmly as we approach the table.
"Thanks Rachel, you don't look too bad yourself." I reply while giving her a quick hug.
I pull back from the hug and stand back next to Nathan. He puts his arm my waist instantly, and I roll my eyes at his male ego. Paul looks over at us and he smiles up at me.
"Hello Ab." he says quietly.
"Hi Paul." I reply with a warm smile.
He slides his glasses back down over his eyes and goes back to playing with his phone. I grin at him and turn back to Rachel who has started a conversation with Nathan.
"What are your plans for the night honey? Are you coming back home, or are you staying at Abby’s house?" she asks, trying to hide the grin from her face.
Nathan rolls his eyes at his Mother and I just chuckle to myself, I think, apart from my Mum, Rachel is the best Mother ever.
"Uh, I'm not sure. Ab, when does that thing start at your house tomorrow?" Nathan asks, turning to me.
Tomorrow, most of my family are coming around to 'celebrate' me graduating high school, not that I wanted it. My Nan was the one who originally organized it, but then Mum said we could have it at our house. People are going to be arriving at eleven, which means no sleep in for me. I sigh and reply without any enthusiasm.
"It starts at eleven."
Nathan notices my un-interested tone and raises his eyebrows at me.
"So does that mean that you will sleep at Abs’, or not?" Rachel asks, looking between both of us.
Nathan looks away from me and back over at his Mum, smiling slightly.
"I think I'll come home." he says as Rachel grins widely.
"Give her a chance to actually sleep hey?" she states, wiggling her eyebrows.
I burst out laughing and Nathan's cheeks go red in embarrassment. Rachel giggles along with me and Nathan shakes his head.
The thing is, Nathan and I have never actually had sex before, though, for some reason, our parents think we have. Probably because we always sleep over at each other’s houses and have been together for a while.
We both agreed that we wanted to wait for a special time to do it, like an anniversary or a birthday, something along those lines. So everyone who has assumed we have had sex, are very, very wrong.
