The Day Of The Party
I got up this morning and quickly remembered that that party was going on tonight. I told Jen about it and she told me that being invited to one of there party is a honor and that I need to go.
I think she was just exaggerating.
I didn't want to go by myself cause I wouldn't know anyone so I asked Jen if she would come and of course she said yea.
I went in the bathroom, brushed my teeth, and washed my face. I changed in to some jeans and a shirt and left my building to go shopping for tonight's party. I may not get paid a lot of money to move to a better place, but I do get enough to spoil myself once and a while so I don't complain.
I told Jen to pick me up in front of the hairdresser a couple of blocks away from where I live. A few minutes later her car pulled up and we were on our way to the mall.
"You excited about tonight?" I asked.
"Are you kidding me? I couldn't even sleep last night." She said.
I started laughing. "What about you?" She questioned.
I shrugged my shoulders. "A little. I mean I haven't been to a party since high school so I'm looking forward to going. But I'm not gonna know anyone so I don't think they'll be much for me to really do." I said.
"I get what you mean. Last time I went to a party was for one of my brothers girlfriends birthday which was a wild as hell. Let's just say by the end of the night she wasn't his girlfriend no more."
We both started laughing. "No I don't think I can party that hard I have classes tomorrow and right after work." I said.
"Well aren't you super woman? I drop out college shit was too hard for me." She said.
"I can understand cause there be times where I wanna drop out myself. But the way shit looking I need this college diploma, it's like my life depends on it." I said.
She nodded her head. "Sometimes I think about going back. But then I tell myself that my rich husband gonna spoil me so who needs college." She replied.
We both started laughing again. "Jen you a mess." I said.
"I know girl I get that a lot." She said laughing.
We pulled up at the mall and walked around looking for place to buy a dress and some shoes to wear to tonight's party.
"You got any idea on what you want to wear?" Jen asked.
"Nope none. I'm just looking for something cute and cheap cause there's a chance I'm only gonna wear this dress one time." I said.
She chuckled. "I hear that." She said looking through the racks.
"What about this?" She asked.
"For me or for you?" I questioned
"For you or course." She said smiling.
"I don't know don't you think it's a little too much?" I asked.
"This is the Menace Brothers party. Too much is a good thing." She replied laughing.
"Stop saying Menace Brothers you making them sound all powerful." I said.
She started laughing and gave me the dress pushing me to the mirror.
I took it and put it in front of me. "Listen to your friend."
I turned around and saw a worker staring at us giving me a thumbs up.
