no one can help that feeling they get when they've started to fall for someone. you don't choose the person you fall for and you can't force yourself not to feel what you're feeling.
"Alex! You are not sparking up an affair with the new teacher when he starts! Who knows if he's attractive for one and for two it's illegal!" I exclaim.
"So! Juliet was younger than Romeo! Besides...in love age and gender and all that nonsense doesn't matter!" She laughs.
"You're not in love with him! You haven't even met him yet! You have no idea who he is!" I laugh.
She looks at me and rolls her eyes before taking a bite of her sandwich.
"Besides, what makes you think he'll fall for your Alex charms?" I smile raising my eyebrows.
"No one can resist the Alex charm!" She smiles and scrunches her nose up at me.
"Okay! So you can make...max fall for your charms?" I smile.
Her smile drops and she lowers her head to the table.
"Oh come on Alex. You've been crushing on him for years." I exclaim. "Just work your charms and show him what he's missing!" I explain.
"I can't talk to him Kat! I just can't. Anyone else I'm fine around but him...I get all awkward!" She explains.
"You just gotta be strong! He-"
"Hey guys! So...today and tomorrow then we're home free for the weekend! What should we do?" J.J exclaims.
"Um...go to the beach maybe?" She suggests.
"I'm down! Kat?" Alex exclaims.
"Sure why not.." I smile and shove a fry in my mouth.

We get through the rest of the day and meet up at my car.
"So if we're going to the beach we all need to look hot af so Kat, wear that sexy purple bikini, and J.J you wear that sexy pink one and I'm gonna wear my sexy black one!" Alex exclaims.
"Can't we go over all this tomorrow?" I laugh.
"No! We need to plan ahead of time. Anyway bitches, I gotta get home but see yas tomorrow! Lov3 ya!!" She exclaims and runs off toward her car.
I look at J.J and smile before she takes off and I climb in my car and head home.
My mum works till ten tonight so I have the house to myself for a few hours which is good.
I head up to my room and grab my laptop. I log on and get a notification that I missed a video call from Dexter.
Dexter is this cute guy in my English class. We're working on a project together and I'm pretty sure he wanted to meet up to get it done.
I click call back and fix my hair and make up before he answers.
"Hey Kat!" He smiles. "Hey Dex. So you called?" I smile. "Yeah! I wanted to meet up to do the project! Is now an okay time?" He asks. "Yeah yeah! Come right over! The doors unlocked!" I smile. "Kay! See you in ten!" He smiles and hangs up.
I jump up from my bed and recheck my hair and makeup. I grab everything I need and lay it out on my bed.
I hear the door open and close and some footsteps approaching my room.
I sit on my bed and pretend to be looking over the information pages the teacher gave us.
"Hey!" He smiles walking in.
I look up from the paper and smile.
He sits across from me on the bed and starts taking stuff out of his bag.
"So...we need to choose a love story, reenact it...and if we use costumes and music an props then we get a good mark" He says reading the paper.
"Yeah..." I sigh.
"So...Romeo and juliet?" He asks.
"No! Everyone will be doing that! Let's find another love story!" I explain.
"Right...hmm..I have no idea what else to do!" He laughs.
"It just says a love story...doesn't mean it has to be a real love story!" I smile.

"Okay, so you're going to play a prince and I'm going to play a pretty servant girl!" I explain.
"Okay! It all sounds good to me!" He smiles.
"We're going to meet and then it'll be like any other fairytale love story. Kinda like Cinderella but different." I explain.
"Okay sounds good. I know where we can go to get costumes too. I wanna get a really good mark on this!" He explains.
"Okay! Um...we can get together on Sunday and go get them if u want!" I suggest.
"Yeah sounds cool!" He smiles. ----------- "We work on writing the script for our little love story and by time we finish it's like ten o'clock.
"Damn. Time does fly by when you're having a good time!" He laughs.
"Yeah..it really does!" I smile and look up at him.
He looks down at me, his eyes flick between my lips and my eyes. Suddenly I realize he's leaning in and I lean in as well.
Our lips connect and it's like we're the only people on earth until I remember he just broke up with his girlfriend and I just broke up with Jason.
I pull away and bite my lip.
"Whats wrong?" He whispers.
"You just broke up with Kenna...I don't want to be just a rebound Dex..." I whisper back.
"Kat...trust me. You're not a rebound." He exclaims.
"Besides you just broke up with Jason didn't you. How do I know I'm not your rebound?" He chuckles.
I look up at him and giggle.
"You know me. You know I don't do rebounds" I explain.
"Exactly. And you know me!" He explains.
"It's getting late. You should probably go. We do have school tomorrow!" I explain.
"Yeah..." He whispers and gets up.
He collects all his stuff and I walk him out to his car.
"I promise you...you're not a rebound. I like you Kat....I'm here for you!" He whispers and kisses me softly before climbing in his car and driving off.
I stand there for a minute. My eyes closed and my finger running over my lips where his once were. If imagined kissing him for years but actually kissing him was much better. I just don't know if I'm quite ready.
As I open my eyes my mum's car pulls into the driveway.
She turns off the car and climbs out.
"Katarina. What are you doing standing out here?" She asks curiously.
"Just thinking mum. Don't worry about it!" I lie and head back inside and up to my room.
I decide to change and go straight to bed. I just want to get tomorrow over with.
