Chapter Eight: Together Against the World

I looked at Zazeeal with unblinking eyes. Who did he think he was? Coming in here and telling me that Xavier is hurting me! That was just wrong, but i did invite him. Ugh! I just don't know.

Zazeeal stared at the ceiling, pinching the bridge of his nose. Hey, that looks like me. I do that when I'm aggravated. Wait, then what is he aggravated about?

I am the one that just got told that my best friend, the closest thing i have ever had to a boyfriend, is hurting me and is killing me.

Great. More drama.

Zazeeal stood up and walked to the window. "Look, I know you may not believe me and you have every right not to, but believe me this, the more you are around him, the less chance of survival you have. Choose wisely, Young One."

"Don't call me Young One. You are older than me, I am postive of that, but that gives you no right. And why should i even listen to you? You called yourself a Dark Angel. Doesn't that make you Dark? Liek a bad guy?"  I crossed my arms and raised my eyebrows at him.

He shook his head. "If you truely believe that, then you wouldn't have called me here." He shook his head and began to climb out the window.

"Wait," I called after him. "You are right, but i still don't understand."

He turned around and sat down on the windowsill. "You have to trust me. That's all I'm going to say."

I hesitated, before saying, "Okay. I trust you." I walked over to him and he held out his hand.

Once again, I hesitated, then clasped his hand with mine.

[Zazeeal's Poing of View]

I smiled at her, then turned, opened my wings and shot out the window, dragging the girl with me.

She began screaming almost instantly, but soon calmed when she realized that i wasn't going to drop her. I laughed and she smiled uncertainly.

For miles, we flew this way, gliding from one current to another, flapping my wings only to catch another wind-stream that my wings couldn't reach.

Nova let out a shriek as i spun around in a circle. She giggled as i straightened my flight. We landed on a helicopter pad, not too far from where we left.

You could see the city lights, shining as brightly as the stars. I set her down and stared out in the distance. How beautiful.

Nova smiled as she turned to also look. She stepped on the edge of the building that was overlooking the water. Galvaston Bay, i think it was called.

"Wow, it's so beautiful," She spoke with intense curiousity. Leaning over the side, she got on her knees and spoke with wonder, "So," She turned back to me. "You have answers? Are you going to tell me or just keep staring at my butt?"

I chuckled and raised one eyebrow at her. Actually, it wasn't that bad. Her rear end, i mean. Ha! A Dark Angel and a half human. Hilarious.

I laughed and Nova stared at me, unblinking. She sat down and crossed her arms. "Ready to talk?"

"Yes, we shall. First, you must understand that i am not dangerous. Maybe, devious, but not dangerous."

"Obviously, you must be wise. Otherwise, you wouldn't be a guardian. Now, will you please tell me what i am. There have been two people already that have told me that I am not completely human. You are one of them."

"Answer me this, do you feel human? You can scream and bust people's eardrums and you can command a Dark Angel to do as you wish, but you can't realize the pain that you are in."

"Pain? I am in no pain."

"Are you sure?"

"Well, physically, yes, but mentally, no. I'm fine."

"Either. Your well-being is being sucked away like a vaccum and you don't even notice. You basically got hit with a motorcycle, Nova! Why can't you see that this demon is destroying you?"

"Xavier is a demon?"

"Yes, I think so."

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Okay. What do i do?"
