Chapter Eleven: Watching the World Fall Apart

I gripped the door frame as i staggered out of the car. It had just come to a stop and the door flew open to expose the sun's light. I fell to the ground and cowered in fear. "Daniel. I am so confused. What is going on? Where are we?" I covered my eyes with my hand and felt around for something to hold onto.

Instinctively, my hand shot for my pocket, which contained my switch blade. It's nice to be always protected. I gasped as something wrapped around my wrist. I still couldn't see and was beginning to wonder if i was going blind.

My heart stopped as i felt detached from myself. I swiveled my head in the direction of the energy of which i was feeling. This is weird, i know, but i can't help to feel like there is a double me standing in front of me, death-gripping my arm.

I pulled myself together and shifted my aura. Sure enough, i felt my same energy beside me, along with the billions of people around us, moving around innocently, without a care in the world. I was in a building of some sort. The walls were white, the floor was white, the ceiling was white. In fact, everything was white. There were no windows or doors of which i could see. There was a set of stairs about a hundred yards from me, millions of people between us. I was in Paris, France. The building was right beside the Eiffel Tower. Don't ask how i knew that. It felt as if we were inside the metal of this ancient artifact. It was weird.

Goodie, i thought. I have always wanted to be kidnapped and taken to this wonderful place. My heart slowly started again and my vision became less blurred. I looked down at my wrist. There was nothing there. It still burned as if something had been latched onto it.

I studied the crowd i was surrounded by. People. People. And more people. Great. Everyone i don't know and no one i do.

I suddenly became aware of a strange itch coming from the back of my neck. It was that feeling that you got like someone was watching you. I looked around. I now noticed that the car i had got out of was gone.

I began pushing through the crowd, looking for something that i couldn't put my finger on. I was curious and it was over-whelming. I was already on my toes and that one scream made it worse. I began running. Pushing people down and kicking and punching the people that ran back at me. They were all trying to escape from something.

I made it to the bottom of the stairs and scrambled up. Reaching the top, i looked out over the balcony. As i tried to identify the source of the chaos, i noticed that feeling of my duplicate again. This time it was hovering over me. I looked up, but could only see the ceiling. Something was there, but i didn't know what.

My fingers reached up. Almost at the extension point, i felt searing heat pouring down on my sensitive skin. I reached higher, wanting to be apart of whatever it was. I felt a shocking pain and reared back. I gazed at my hand. The tips of my fingers were red and blistered. My eyes widened and i helplessly stretched for more. It was as if i couldn't control myself. The pain was addicting, exhilarating.

It seared me once again, but this time it felt more intense, like a warning. Keep your hands to yourself or you might loose a finger or two. I knew that voice. I knew it from anywhere.

"Zazeeal," i whispered. "Where are you? I am helpless. I am desperate. Give me your guidance. Please."

I remember those days when you were yelling at me to get away and to leave you alone. Now you are begging for my help? Pathetic.

"Zazeeal. I saved you."

I know. I thank you for that, but this one you must work out on your own. Goodbye.

"Wait! Don't leave! I need you!" My heart pounded as i searched for him, my fingers grazed the edge of his existence and i pulled him back, wincing from the pain.

Stop it! Release me! I ain't got time fo dis'! He talked with an accent that made me bust out laughing. Only him.

He began to wiggle and i released him. I turned away and said, "I really need you help."

But he was gone.

I turned and looked back over to see all the panicked people. They were all so scared, but from what? I dug deeper into the people and found what i was looking for. It was masked by invisibility. It was scaring people, but staying hidden. Fantastic.

It reminded me of a lizard. A scary, death lizard with extremely ugly features. It was horendous! I couldn't get over how ugly it was! It towered over everyone, like the kid at my school that everyone calls a freak, but he is my friend. The creature was unbelievably frightening. The type of thing that little children would wake up, screaming from.

I needed a plan to stop it. I wanted to help the people and prove to Zazeeal that i wasn't that helpless.

I marched down the steps and began yelling at people to get out of the way. They all moved off to the side of the room out of the way. I looked around for something that i could throw to get its attention. There was paper everywhere, from people running and dropping them as they went.

I picked a piece up, wadding it in a ball, i threw it as hard as i could. It didn't go very far. It didn't even come anywhere close to the monster. A wallet skidded across the floor and came to rest at my feet. I looked in the direction from which it came from and an old woman nodded her head at me. I gave her a side smile and turned my attention back to the monster.

Chucking the wallet, i ducked to the side and quickly transformed into my other self. Which i guess you could call my twin Zazeeal, but not really. It was just a body, not his mind.

I flew overhead and on the other side of Invisobeast, my nickname for the monster. It seemed that it turned around looking for the source of who threw the wallet. I dived at it, flapping my wings in frantic motion. It reared back in pain as my claws dug into its tough skin.

I shielded myself as it swung at me, missing, but not by much. I lashed at it again with my talons, creating a slash in its eyeball. It screamed a dreadful sound, making me cover my ears. My heart raced as tore out its other eye. The shrieking was becoming a gruesome wail. I was about to give in to its vicious swings when it clasped one of my wings and i yelped, closing my eyes. I felt like i died when i heard a ripping sound, but i felt nothing.

I looked to my side to see the monster wasn't touch me, wasn't even near me. My emotions soared when i saw Zazeeal fighting off the creature. It was as if he could see it perfectly. I didn't understand. I was becoming confused. I was about to pass out. My eyes widened as i captured Zazeeal ripping the reptile apart. He was destroying it. When he finished, he looked at me as if asking for my approval. I nodded and he smiled his wicked smile.

For the second time that day, i lost conscience.
