The morning came by quickly as my alarm woke me up at 6 in the morning. I went downstairs to see that there was breakfast already which was weird to me, I sat down the dining table to see a note.
Poppy
We left for work early. Hope you understand, sweetie.
Love, Mom and Dad
I ate breakfast which was scrambled eggs and bacon and then I washed the dishes. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 6:15 o'clock, I went up to my room and checked my phone- Darn it, it was three messages from Noah.
Noah
I'm sorry poppy.
Noah
Hope we can restart.
Noah
Pls. come to the party with me and let me make it up to you.
I hoped and prayed that not replying to him would give him the answer that he needed to stop bugging me- which is No.
I took a shower and got ready for school. I wore a simple white shirt and denim jeans and paired it with my white converse. When I grabbed my bag my phone rang,
"Hello?" I said.
"Good morning, Poppy. I couldn't drive to yours today to pick you up." Iris said. "I called Adam and asked him to pick you up."
"Really, now? Because-" I looked outside my window to see Noah's car. "I see Noah's car parked on our driveway."
"Definitely not me." She said.
"Okay." I said.
I went out of the house and locked the doors and I was greeted with a "Good morning."
"What's so good about the morning really?" I asked.
"I'm sorry, okay? It was such a dick move of me to do what I did last night. I should've respected what you wanted."
"And you're not respecting what I wanted now." I said. "Did I not tell you that I don't want you to bug me ever again?"
"Let's just go to school." He said.
I rolled my eyes and went in the backseat, He rolled his eyes as he revved the engine of his Nissan GTR.
"Is that supposed to impress me? Because I've heard engines rev better than yours." I said as I pulled my notebook out of my backpack and checked the homework that I did before sleeping last night.
"You know cars?" He asked.
"I do." I said.
He started to drive, " I just want to know why."
"Huh?"
"Why do you ignore me? Whenever I flirt with you it's just no use." He says.
"You want to know why?"
"Yes, I want to know why."
"Because you hurt me, Noah." I said looking straight in his eyes that were looking at me through the rear-view mirror. "You leave me letters on my locker everyday through 5th and 6th grade and when we got the chance to be close and Freshman year started it was all going fine until you suddenly became a hotshot and left me with no good bye, no memo, without any notice whatsoever."
He was silent.
"How do you think I should react to that? Be alright until you get your life together and ready when you come back? It doesn't work like that, Noah. It doesn't work on me." I said.
"I'm sorry." He says. "I know that it doesn't work on you- I should know." Then he followed with a sarcastic chuckle.
"I should know because I've been with lots of girls and none of them could make me feel the way you do." He said as he stopped the car to turn his head and look at me.
It was my turn to become speechless, he looked into my eyes before turning his head facing the road and starting the car again. I knew in my mind that I shouldn't but my heart says that I should give him one last chance, when we got to school I was going to open my door.
"Don't you dare." Noah said before opening his door and rushing to mine and opening it for me.
"I'll go to the party with you in one condition."
He looked hopeful and happy, "What?"
"Don't make me regret my decision to giving you one last chance."
