"Alois, what exactly are you doing?" The bluish black haired boy asked. The blonde spun around and giggled, "Oh, Ciel~ I was just redecorating!" Alois stepped aside to reveal the other's locker. The formerly dull locker was decked out in bright purple and pink wallpaper and had blue, hand-made paper butterflies on the door and hanging by string on the top.

Ciel's eyes went wide. "Alois! Are you crazy!? This looks like a girl's locker!" The 13 year old said through gritted teeth, in an attempt not to draw any attention to the Alois' little "present."

Alois pouted cutely and leaned up against the other lockers, "Oh come on, Ciel, I did it all just for you." What the blonde said was true. He had hoped that Ciel would love the locker. He wanted so much to see the bluenette smile.

"You're an idiot, Trancy!" Ciel said angrily. He reached up and hatefully ripped one of the paper butterflies off the string. Alois felt some of his heart rip right along with the poor butterfly. He skillfully held back tears and smiled widely. It was a good thing he was such a good actor. A really good thing. "Well, Phantomhive, if you'd like we can switch lockers. Mine's untouched, don't you worry!"

Alois yelped as Ciel threw the ripped butterfly on the ground and smashed it with his shoe. "I'll take it, Trancy," With every step Ciel walked away, a tear threatened to fall from the blonde's icy blue eyes. Alois put his books away in his new locker and made sure to take the long way home.

. . . . .

As soon as Alois got home he threw off his dress shoes and jacket and ran up the stairs. He flopped onto his huge bed and sighed heavily. "Well, that plan crashed and burned." The blonde said staring at the ceiling. A chilly evening breeze swept through the open window. His guardian, Claude, was not home from work yet and Alois was all alone. Just like always. Thoughts swirled through his head so fast. Why didn't Ciel like his surprise? Why didn't he smile? Why didn't he like him? Did Ciel hate him?

Alois buried his head into his pillow and cried. For months now the blonde has done everything he could think of to try and make Ciel crack a smile. For him to be happy, was all Alois wanted. But nothing seemed to work at all. Not the homemade sweets, not the cute little notes nor the jokes. Alois jumped up from his bed and rammed his foot into the wall. He was so angry and sad and just plain confused. He kicked the wall over and over again until he could barley feel his toes. The pain took his mind off of things and he smiled. The second he smiled he realized something. He was Alois Trancy. He could do anything. He didn't wait for things to happen, he made them happen. He was going to make Ciel like him, no matter what.

. . . . .

Alois made sure to get to school early the next day. When he entered the high school, it was deserted. The only sound was the soft hum of computers in the lab. Alois smiled. Perfect. The blonde skipped happily down the hall until he reached his old locker, which now belonged to Ciel. Alois opened up the bare locker and rummaged around his messenger bag. He pulled out a little blue food container. Inside the container were 2 eggs, a piece of toast, bacon, and a muffin. Alois smiled happily and placed the box into the locker. "Bon apeite, Phantomhive."

Soon, the school began to fill with sleepy students and grouchy teachers. Alois, who had been hiding out in the bathroom, squealed in glee and spun around. He couldn't wait until Ciel discovered the homemade breakfast. That would definitely put a smile on his gloomy face.

He wouldn't see Ciel again until 3rd period. Alois could barely contain his excitement. Finally, 3 hours and 3 failed pop quizzes later, it was time for 3rd period. The blonde made sure to be the first in the class. He stood by Ciel's desk and waited. The bluenette was the forth student to come in, early as always. Ciel's bluish-black hair fell over his left eye which was guarded by a tight eye patch. He wore a white collared dress shirt under a long sleeved blue sweater. Kaki pants and dress shoes completed the uniform. How well Ciel wore his uniform suddenly caused Alois to feel a bit self counsious. His dress shirt was untucked and his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. He pushed that thought away. He'd have to think about that later.

Ciel walked over to his desk and placed his books down. "Would you care to explain to me why you are standing at my desk, Trancy?"

Alois smiled, "Well, did you like it?"

Ciel's bored expression stayed, "What are you talking about? Go sit down."

Alois's smile dropped. "You know, in the locker?"

Did he not get it? Did someone else take it? No, they couldn't have because you'd need the combination to open it. Does Ciel not visit his locker in the morning?

"Mr. Trancy, please have a seat this insist." The teacher snapped, pulling the blonde out of his thoughts.

"Go sit down you idiot." Ciel whispered, taking his own seat.

Alois turned to leave when Ciel said, "By the way, Trancy, you're a liar."

The older boy turned on his heals, "What? How am I a liar?"

Ciel shook his head, "You said that locker was clean. But it had some nasty left-over food in it. I threw it away, container and all."

Alois found it hard to pay attention to Greek Metaphors. He doodled on his paper and kept his eyes fixed on the bluenette. So that plan failed. So what? Alois had plenty of other ideas. A simple breakfast malfunction meant nothing. Besides, it was Thrusday, which meant they were selling cookies at lunch. Alois knew how much Ciel loved loved loved sweets. And, just maybe, a cookie could hold the key to his heart.
