Alois began ignoring Ciel, which actually wasn't so hard because he seemed to be a tad distracted. Everywhere Alois saw Ciel, that Elizabeth girl was glued to his side. In the halls, in class, after school, and even at his house.

The blonde was seriously begning to doudt his plan. It seemed utterly pointless. What's the point of trying to win someone's heart if it's already been taken?

It was a stormy Saturday night, and Alois was laying face down on his bed. The boy didn't know what was happening. Both his heart and his world was crumbling around him, and it was extremely painful. His heart ached and his icy blue eyes were red from crying. His mind wondered to Ciel. What was he doing right now? Probably cuddling up with that picture-perfect barbie doll.

Alois groaned and rolled off his bed and onto the floor. It wouldn't do him any good to think about it. Across the room, Alois's phone vibrated and lit up, scaring the boy. He lazily got up and dragged himself over.

His heart started beating  a million miles a mintue as his eyes located the identity of the message's sender. It was Ciel. Ciel?!

Hurridly, Alois opened the message. It read: Hello.

Hello?! After all that, all he has to say is hello?! Suddenly inraged, Alois turned off his moble and chuncked it across the room. It hit the wall hard and split into three peices.

The blonde stared absent-mindedly at the wall, not really knowing what to think. Did Ciel care about him or not? Was he with Elizabeth? How many more nights would Alois have to cry himself to sleep?

The next morning, Alois didn't bother getting up for school. He threw his alarm at the wall, where it met a similar fate to that of his phone. He stayed in bed all day, just staring at the ceilng. Thoughts whirled in his blonde head as he decided if he should give up or not. Ciel was definatley worth a fight, but it was so painful seeing him with Elizabeth. Maybe he was really happy with the girl. Truely happy. Could Alois even make him happy?

The blonde didn't even budge when his bedroom door was opened.

"You have a guest." a voice that Alois automatically recognized said. Alois turned over and glared at the man before him.

"Claude? Don't you see that I've skipped school? What do you have to say aboout that?"

The man merely stayed silent for a second before saying,

  "You have a guest."

Alois sighed and untagled himself from the covers. He hastily put on some sweat pants and an old t shirt. It's not like he really cared about his apperince anymore. What was the point?

Ciel stood at the front door, his hands in his pockets, looking as calm and colected as ever. Alois's eyes widened as he saw the boy, but he quickly reminded himself about how upset Ciel made him.

"Are you sick?" Ciel asked, looking Alois up and down.

The blonde crossed his arms and didn't even bother to produce a smile.

"You could say that, I guess." he said, his voice coming out cold and uncaring, matching his current mood.

Ciel shifted uncomfortably, a bit unsure of how to continue the conversation.

"Here's your homework." The navy haired boy said, getting a folder out of his bag and holding in front of the blonde.

Alois didn't take it. He stood still, staring Ciel down. He tried to fit as much as much hurt, anger, and sadness into his glare as he could.

Ciel, however, seemed unfazed. He seemed annoyed.

"Are you going to take it?" he asked, sighing.

"Ciel!~" a high-pitched voice rang out. Lo and behold, Elizabeth popped her blonde head through the doorway and pulled on Ciel's sleeve.

"Let's go! We're going to miss the moive, silly!~" She whined.

Alois gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. Anger, jelously, and plain confusion bubbled up inside of him. He ran up and slapped the folder out of Ciel's hand, sending it flying across the room. The two guests grew silent and looked wide-eyed at Alois.

"Get. Out." the blonde said, his voice shaking with rage.

After a minute of shock, Ciel blinked before taking Elizabeth's hand and leading her out of the house.

Alois's heart stung watching Ciel walk away. More than half of him wanted to reach out and grab Ciel's arm. To tell him to wait. To say sorry. But he knew he couldn't. He was hurt and he had to remember that. Then again, this could be his chance. Who's to say that Ciel would ever wanted to talk to him again?

"Ciel?" Alois called out, hating the amount of urgancy in his voice.

Ciel turned around, Elizabeth doing the same.

"Can I, um, talk to you after school tomorrow?" Alois asked nervously.

Ciel raised an eyebrow at the blonde and his out of character actions.

"Sure. Meet me at the cafe." the navy haired boy said before turning back to Elizabeth and walking off.

It took a few seconds for Alois's mind to catch up with the words that were just exchanged. Why did he say that? It's not like Ciel would ever like him. It was obvious now more than ever. Maybe they could just talk? If they couldn't be lovers, then maybe they could just stay friends.

Alois was nervous all day at school the next day. He kept imaging all of the possible outcomes of his meeting with Ciel. It could go good, it could go bad, it could be awkward, uncomfortable, and horrible. Only time would tell.

Although the two were going to talk that afternoon, Alois contuined avoiding the eye-patch wearing boy. He just couldn't face him yet. He had to prepare himmself. Suprisingly, Ciel had attempted to talk to him several times, but each time Alois muttered a "sorry" and ran away.

The blonde was on his way to his last class when he heard a familiar voice.

  "Just shut up."

It was Ciel, and he sounded pretty upset. Alois took the the stairs two at a time and saw Ciel backed against the wall with two older boys blocking his way.

"Going to cry to your mummy and daddy? Oh, right," One of the boys said, smirking. "They're dead."

Ciel was trying to look strong, but Alois knew better. He could see Ciel's hands shaking. The navy haired boy always tried to stay strong and act like it didn't bother him when people talked about his parents, but Alois knew it did.

The two boys threw thier heads back in laughter.

"You're all alone!" they said between laughing.

Without a second thought, Alois ran up and shoved the kid hard. He went went flying and crashed on the floor with a pained exhale. The other kid gaped at Alois and took a step back.

"Don't you ever even think about talking to Ciel like that again. Understood?'' Alois said, staring down the boys.

All was quiet as the assualted boy got to his feet and walked up to Alois, a huge smirk plastered on his face.

"Oh?" he said, snikering. "And why shouldn't I?"

Alois glared at the boy and stepped protectively in front of Ciel.

"Because if you do, I will beat you to a bloody pulp." Alois said angrily.

The boy turned and laughed with his friend, but was quickly silenced as the blonde's fist smashed into his nose, sending blood poring down his face.
