The boys' friendship was sucessfully back on track and Alois couldn't be happier. They laughed and talked and got along better than ever before.
Alois momentarily forgot Elizabeth even existed because of how much time Ciel spent with him. The Phantomhive boy came to his house and vice versa, where they played video games, watched movies, and just talked. The blonde was walking on air and Ciel was smiling more than ever. Alois didn't think anything could take them down, but little did he know, a certian girl with pigtails had a plan to do just that.
"Excuse me, class! Attention!" the teacher yelled, trying to get a hold of the out of control class. Slowly, people realized that someone was indeed talking, and quieted down. The teacher cleared his throat.
"Excellent, now. Yes, so our class has been chosen to sponser the Fall dance this year!" he exclaimed. The boys, inculding a certian blonde and bluenette, groaned and the girls started giggling and started whispering.
"Listen!" the teacher exclaimed, clapping. "If your last name starts with A through M you will be decorating the gym on Mondays and Wednesdays. If your last name starts with an N through Z you will be going every Tuesday and Thrusday. On Fridays we'll all go and ensure that this dance is nothing less than perfect!"
The teacher's words left the room buzzing, some positive, others negative. Alois was just glad that he'd get to decorate with Ciel. Thank God for last names! The blonde hopped up and sat in the empty seat behind the Phantomhive boy.
"Excited yet?" he asked, poking Ciel on the back repeatedly until he turned around.
"Oh, yes. I simply cannot contain myself." Ciel said, sarcastically, earning a giggle for the blonde.
Suddenly, another blonde entered the conversation.
"Ciel! Ask the teacher if you can switch groups! I don't know anyone in mine!~" Elizabeth whined, giving Ciel puppy dog eyes.
"But we'll all be in there on Fridays. I can't exactly change my last name..." The eyepatch wearing boy stated, resting his chin on his palm.
"Yeah, and couldn't you just wait?'' Alois added, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
The girl whipped her head in Alois' direction and glared.
"You know, I don't think I asked for your opinion, Trancy. So why don't you just stay out of it?" Her voice was quite loud, gaining the attention of other classmates.
Alois stood up and went back to his seat. He was scared that if he stayed there any longer, he'd end up completely snapping on the girl. The blonde tried to look over and get Ciel's attention, but Elizabeth was in the way, just like always.
Alas, there was one thing the bottle blonde barbie doll couldn't interfere in: the set up for the dance.
Thrusday rolled around, and all of the N's-Z's gathered in the gym, wishing they could be anywhere but here. The other group had only got as far as to put up a few banners. Ciel and Alois were in charge of "making paper flowers'' which just turned into them sitting criss-cross applesause in a corner, flicking pieces of paper at each other. No one really seemed into decorating, as most of the girls stood in small clusters and talked, while the boys were busy with more productive activites, like flicking paint at each other.
The flustered teacher went from group to group, trying to get the gears of creativity in motion, but they seemed quite stuck.
"So," Alois said, strategically aiming a little paper ball at Ciel's head. "Are you going to the dance?"
The bluenette dodged the ball and flicked one right at the blonde's forehead.
"Of course not." he said, chuckling as Alois rubbed his forehead. "Why would I?"
Alois sliently cursed himself for asking. Of course Ciel wasn't going to go! Maybe he could find a way to convince him..
"Dunno. What if Elizabeth makes you go?" the Trancy boy asked, grabbing a rubber band for better aim. Ciel caught on and took a rubber band as well.
"She can't make me do anything, Alois. I'm my own person."
The blonde launched the paper missile at the bluenette, finally hitting him square in the chest.
"Yes! Fina-" Alois' cheers of joy were cut short as several paper balls assulted his body, all coming from the Phantomhive boy.
Ciel laughed, while Alois crossed his arms and pouted.
"How dare you attack a man during his victory cheer! And you call yourself a gentlemen!" the blonde exclaimed, plopping back down on the hard gym floor.
"Hey, I never said I was a gentlemen." Ciel countered, cleaning up the mess they had made.
Alois helped too, picking up all the little bits of paper. All in all, they had made a total of five paper flowers, which was more progress that anyone else had made.
"What about you, then?" Ciel asked out of the blue as the two made their way out of the gym. The sun had already set, and the night air was chilly. Kids littered the outside of the gym, calling their parents and waiting for their rides.
"What do you mean?" the blonde asked, sending a text to Claude.
"Are you going to the dance?" the bluenette asked, watching Alois' fingers move across the keyboard.
It was true, Alois had planned on going to the dance, but he had also planned on bringing Ciel, too. He knew it was out of the question to flat out ask the boy out, because he obviously had a girlfriend.
"Yeah, I proabaly am. We have to help decorate, so might as well stick around to see how it turns out." Alois said, looking at his feet.
The blonde thought back to that day in his bedroom where he vowed to win Ciel's heart. He had vowed to do anything and everything to have Ciel, and Alois didn't give up so easily. He loved Ciel. He really did, but he knew the boy didn't feel the same. But Alois didn't want to give up. Nothing was impossible, after all. Obtaining Ciel's heart could still be done.
"Would you care to tag along?" the blonde asked with newfound confidence. His plan wasn't a complete failure after all. He could still do this.
The navy haired boy chuckled and put his hands in his pockets.
"Alois Trancy, are you asking me to the dance?" he asked, causing the blonde to immeaditly blush. Thankfully, it was too dark to see.
"Indeed, my good sir!" Alois joked, bowing dramatically.
Ciel laughed at the display, causing puffs of cold air to escape his lips.
"I'd be honored. Friends go to dances with friends all the time, so it wouldn't be weird."
Alois frowned at the word "friends" but instantly smiled so brightly that it could be seen from miles away.
"Yay! I can't wait!" he exclaimed, hugging the Phantomhive boy tightly; And, to his surprise, Ciel actually hugged back.
