It seemed like a blow to the face really shook the boy's confidence, because almost as soon as he stumbled back, he ran off with his friend in tow.

Alois turned to Ciel and offered him a nervous chuckle.

"You okay?" he asked, studying the boy.

Ciel had a weird exppression on his face. One that Alois had never seen before. He looked shocked and angry. That look hit Alois and left him stunned.

"Ciel?" Alois asked, his voice full of concern.

Without any explanation, Ciel took off running, leaving the blonde confused. He had just defended Ciel, and he runs away? What was wrong with him? It wasn't like Ciel to get upset over a bunch of kids. Then again, they did talk about his parents.

Alois decided against going after him. He wanted to let the Phantomhive have some space and cool down. He'd get to see him later that afternoon anyway, so need to rush.

The blonde's nerves really jumbled during his last class. He found it hard to concentrate on polynomial figures when all he could think about was Ciel and how he'd probably order a triple chocolate cake when they met at the cafe.

After what seemed like a million years, the bell rang, releasing teens of all ages into the outside world. Alois shouldered past several students, his nervosness slowly turning to pure excitement. It suddenly dawned on him how much he had missed Ciel. Missed talking to him and aggervaiting him. Recently, that Elizabeth had stolen that. But this afternoon was his, and his alone.

He made it to the cafe in record time, and requested an outside seat. The air was warm and the sounds of people laughing and talking filled the air. Every time the cafe doors opened, the smell of cakes and cookies swarmed the outside costumers. Alois picked a spot that was shaded by a huge umbrella and that was relatively close to the street, so Ciel could see him right away.

Alois had  practically ran over, so he was a bit early. He read the menu a few times, twirled the umbrella until he got yelled at by a waitress, and petted a stray cat that strolled by. The blonde was getting a bit restless, to say the least.

Costumers came and went, and yet Ciel didn't show. Alois was getting really worried. What if Ciel had been so upset about his parents, that he just went home and cried? Alois rested his head on the glass table and sighed. Maybe he should go check on him? He couldn't text him because his moble was currently crushed in his bedroom.

Hours past and soon it was dark out. Some waitresses gave him sympathetic looks, while others glared at him like he was going to get up and smash all of the windows in.

The blonde got up and started walking home, a bit angry. What if Ciel was just joking when he said to meet him? What if it was all one big joke to make Alois look stupid and Ciel and his little girlfriend sat laughing behind some bush? Not knowing what else to do, Alois walked home, taking the long way as usual.
