Lunar Eclipse

Summer

I see my dad waiting for us at the terminal. I walk over and I give him a quick little hug. On the drive home I tell dad all that mom bought me and what she got me for graduation. He tells me how great it is that she did that.

Dad pulls up to our house and I run inside, happy to be home. It was a warmer day today but no sunshine so I suggest going to the pool. Shawn agrees and heads home to change and grab pool stuff. I head up to my room and I change into a black bikini with white flip flops. I put on a white crop top and jean shorts. I grab a towel and underwear and I put it into a beach bag.

As soon as I reach the last step, Shawn is back. He's wearing striped navy blue swim trunks, a white muscle shirt and black flip flops. I get into his car and he drives to the pool.

We get out and are briefly separated by the change rooms but meet back up at the pool.

"Here's to an eventful summer," Shawn says as he jumps into the deep end. He resurfaces and I jump in after him. When I come up, his lips connect with mine and I have to remind him we're not alone. Then I become sad. "Hey, what's wrong baby?" he asks.

"It's just, last time we were at the pool was the day you left," I say pouting.

"I know but that won't happen again, I promised you that I would never leave you again." I smile up at him and he places a kiss to my forehead. I then splash him with water and swim away. "Oh no you didn't! Get back here Kaitlyn," he says swimming after me. He almost grabs me but I move just in time.
"Missed me, missed me, now you gotta kiss me," I say teasing him like when we were children.

"I'm okay with that." As he tries to catch me, at human speed, I always move out of the way. Finally, as I move out of the way he goes underwater, swims up behind me and pounces on me.

"Okay you caught me, now what?" I joke.

"Now, you're my prisoner and the only way to be free is if you kiss me."

"Hmm, I pick jail," I say laughing. His eyes fill with excitement and he brings me out of the pool. We then head back through the change rooms and then when we're at his car. He pushes me against the car so that my back is on his door and his lips smash into mine. My fingers knot his hair and the kiss deepens. Then he pulls away.

"You know, I'm now no longer your prisoner," I joke.

"Worth it," he says smiling at me. As I turn to open the car door he slaps my ass.

"Shawn Mendes?! Where are your manners?" I ask jokingly.

"They left the moment you put that ring on your finger, future Mrs. Mendes," he says.

"You know that I'm hyphenating my name right," I inform him.

"That's fine, as long as Mendes is there." He pulls up to my house and I get out. He then gets out on his side and we go into my house.

"Shawn! How was the pool?" my dad asks from the kitchen.

"Fine, nice day for swimming." We walk into the kitchen and dad has made us pasta and meatballs.

"You guys hungry?" he asks grabbing plates.

"Shawn is going home for dinner but I'm starving." Shawn looks at me sadly and I mouth meet me in my room and he leaves.

"How's the fiancé? You two still getting married?" My dad still has hope for Griff and me to get together.

"Shawn is great and the wedding is still on dad." He puts a scoop of pasta on my plate and I practically wolf it down.

"Slow down, you're gonna choke," he says. I then finish the rest slower and I head upstairs and lying on my bed is Shawn.

"There you are," he says walking over to me. "Listen, the army is going to be here in a week and one of Georgie's friends, Lake, wanted to go over ways to defeat them and since I can't leave you alone, your coming too."

"When?"

"All this week until the day before the fight." I nod my head. "The wolf pack will also be there," he adds. I will finally get to see the entire pack.

Shawn then grabs me and we fall backwards onto my bed. "And from the day of the fight, only 2 more weeks till our wedding." Shawn smiles and kisses me. I then hear a knock on my door and Shawn is nowhere in sight. "Come in."

"Listen, I have to go to Seattle for about a week for some mandatory training and I wanted to know if you wanted to come along," he sorta asks.

"No, that's ok. Jordan isn't that far away from here so it's not like I'll be alone," I reply.

"Okay but no parties and no visitors after 9 pm alright," he adds. I knew by "visitors" he meant Shawn.

"When have I ever thrown a party? When do you leave?" I ask.

"I leave tomorrow morning and I'll return by Sunday night." I nod my head and he leaves, closing the door behind him. Then Shawn reappears at my side.

"That's convenient," he says as he lays back. I put my head on his chest and I fall asleep.
