Epilogue: Choices

Griff's P.O.V

I stare out at the ocean and then I hear footsteps behind me.

"You know that she's not into right?" Rachel asks.

"I do know Rachel," I retort.

"Geez, no need to be a snob."

"I know that too, I'm more mad at myself."

"For what? Not telling her how you felt before she went chasing after her bloodsucking boyfriend?" she asks, already knowing all the answers. Stupid wolf telepathy.

"Yes, you already know that Rachel."

"Seriously, just let her go, it's not like you imprinted on her," she tells me. I stand up with some difficulty from the cast around my chest. Two months later and I'm still wearing it even though my bones are healed, god I wish I was still human.

"You know what Rachel, I don't care, I love her and that's enough." She rolls her eyes and we head back to my house.

"Griff, you're not happy. Go out with some girls, anything, just stop thinking she'll love you back."

"I wish I could," I sigh. We head inside and my dad is already cooking dinner.

"And what about you and Jack?" I ask.

"It's fine, we only dated for a couple weeks and then he imprinted on Sam's younger sister, Fiona, no big deal," she says.

"I know you still have feelings for him Rachel," I tell her.

"Yeah but I wasn't in love with him, I'm slowly getting over it dumb ass."

"You know what, why don't you go bug someone else," I say.

"They are all busy and it's fun to bug you," she says, sticking her tongue out at me.

"You know what Rachel, you are truly like the sister I never had, or wanted," I joke.

"Oh yeah, well if I'm your sister then I get to live here," she jokes back.

"No, you have a house."

"But I'm your little sister," she says fake pouting her lip.

"You know what, you can really get on my nerve sometimes."

"Oh I know." I pull her in for a hug and then we sit at the kitchen table. My dad serves us fish.

"How are you Rachel?" my dad asks.

"Great daddy." My dad looks at her confused.

"I'll explain later dad," I say and I dig into the food.
