Training

After 2 days of training, everyone seems well prepared. Lake is a good teacher because he used to be in a newborn army himself.

Georgie is really good and has won every practice round she does except she ties when sparing with Shawn. Shawn also wins his rounds but ties when sparing with Georgie.

2 more days till the fight with the army. The wolves have even begun sparing among themselves.

Jordan checks up on me after dinner time so I haven't seen much of him this week. Lake walks over to me.

"It seems that there will about 20 of the newborns but Georgie and Shawn don't recognize any. One of the vampires can sit out, I was thinking Shawn so he could be with you."

"But I want to be at the fight."

"That could work for us, with you there distracting the newborns they will be easier to kill." I'm going to ask Shawn.

Shawn finishes sparing Damien and runs over to me. "How are you feeling?"

"A bunch of vampires want to kill me so nothing's new." He rolls his eyes and kisses me.

"So, Lake said it would be an advantage to have me there at the fight."

"Absolutely not." His voice suggests this is the end of the conversation.

"Okay, so it's either too dangerous you don't want me there, or, it's an easy win and you can sit out," I say.

"Kaitlyn, I should be fighting," he begins to explain.

"But you'll be distracted worrying about me and I'll be worrying about you and you proved that it hurts us to be apart," I tell him.

"Fine, I'll tell Lake I'm gonna sit the fight out." I smile and I give him a kiss. He walks over to Lake and they start talking.

"Lover boy sitting out huh?" I hear Griff ask.

"Yes but because I asked him." Shawn jogs back and says it's a go, he'll be sitting out with me. "Good."

Griff then leaves to go spar with Tyler.

Lake calls an end to practice again. "Griff, I need you to watch Kaitlyn while I go hunt, alright?"

"Sure thing Shawn." Then Griff pulls me into a big hug. Shawn gets in his car and drives off.

"What do you want to do?" I ask Griff.

"I really need to talk to you."

"About what?" Griff grabs my hands in his.

"I've been meaning to tell you for a while now. Kaitlyn, I'm in love with you," he says. I just stand there in complete shock.

He then grabs my face with his hands and his lips smash into mine. I stand perfectly still and when he lets go I punch him with my right hand and it felt like I hit a brick wall. I think I broke it.

"Ow!" I scream. Griff looks at me with concern. "Don't you dare touch me, just take me home!" I yell at him. He then bursts into laughter.

"I seriously wouldn't have known you punched me if you didn't scream!" he laughs.

"I said, take me HOME!"

"Alright, let's go to my truck, it's parked on the main road." I walk through thick green bushes and we make it to the side road and we follow it till we reach the main road.

I hop into the cab of the truck holding my right hand. He took me to the hospital first and he's so lucky it's only a sprain.

He pulls into my driveway and I see Shawn's car. "If you ever touch her again, I will murder you!" Shawn growls at him.

"I won't kiss her again unless she asks," he says winking at me.

"Never!" Griff gets back into his truck and drives away.

"Are you okay love?" Shawn asks.

"Nothing a kiss can't fix," I say and he kisses me softly. Griff's kiss was rough and forced. This kiss was natural and I loved it.

"How about some dinner?" he asks me.

"I'm just gonna order a pizza," I say.

"I will," he says and pulls out his phone.

15 minutes later Shawn comes back up to my room with a pizza box and I grab a slice.

"Where were we?" Shawn asks.

"I forget," I say with a mouthful of food.

"I remember now, your plans for college," he says.

"I've been accepted to a few including the University of Alaska."

"Well, I have also been accepted to the University of Alaska," he says smiling.

"We could go together I mean, I did accept already," I admit.

"Really, that's great, I accepted too!" After finishing my bite of pizza I kiss Shawn. We'll be going to the same college.

"We can pack and head up after our honeymoon," I say.

"Ah, our honeymoon," he sighs.

"Speaking of which, where are we going for our honeymoon?" I ask curiously.

"You will have to wait and see," he says smirking. There is then a knock on the door and we rush down. I open it to see Georgie.

"Hey Georgie. What are you doing here?"

"Telling you our plans for tomorrow night. You will be coming over to my house for a sleepover."

"Great, I can't wait to spend some girl time with you," I say but she shakes her head.

"You will be at my house with Shawn," she tells me.

"I'm not complaining, but why?" I ask.

"I need to hunt with the others." I'm an idiot.

"Oh yeah, I knew that."

"Great, you guys can go over whenever you want. Oh and there's a bed for you in the guest room so don't worry," she adds. I wave goodbye as she speeds away.

I then grab my cellphone to tell Jordan that I'll be over at Georgie's for a sleepover tomorrow night. Not a lie, I just didn't tell him Georgie won't be there.

Shawn and I head back up to my room. We continue talking about what courses were gonna take and not long after, I fall asleep.
