Kari felt herself almost freeze that night, but she would manage. Soon Ragnar would no longer need her help and she could be free to find her father. When morning came she got up early before Rollo, making her way into the streets the morning sun was warm today, which was a pleasant surprise. Making her way through town to the outskirts she found her way to Helga and Floki's house beside the forest.

As she approached the house she saw Helga's white blonde hair glowing in the sunlight, Helga turned and smiled at Kari as she came closer "Helga, I came to thank you for the clothes. You didn't need to offer these to me" Kari spoke slightly breathless as she finally stopped walking. "It was no problem, I was happy to help. You seem kind, Folki thinks you're special, even if he doesn't show it. He takes a while to warm up to people" she smiled thinking of her partner. Kari looked past Helga to see Floki poking his head out the door, Kari gave him a big smile and waved but he just turned back inside and ignored her, causing her to laugh, Helga joining in. "He likes you, he just doesn't trust you..." she said in deep thought "Come into town with me? we can look through the market?" she asked hopefully. Kari shook her head slowly "I shouldn't have even come here this morning, I snuck away before Rollo was awake. I'm sure he needs me to do something today" Helga frowned "He didn't free you? I was sure he must have when he came to get the clothes..." she said with furrowed brows, Kari shook her head "Only Ragnar can free me" Kari mumbled. Helga thought deeply for a moment before replying "Well.. I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure Ragnar will free you once he's found everything he needs to know about the west." She said with a hopeful tone "come, we'll walk back to town together."

The two women walked back to town, finding Rollo with his arms crossed at the door of his hut. "Kari... I thought you'd run away. Since you are back, go get some food, I can not spare the coin so try to catch some fish" he said brushing her off, Kari rushed off to go do as he had said, leaving Helga glaring at Rollo. "What?" he groaned "You lied to her. You can free her and you know that. She is your slave." she spoke sternly but Rollo did not care "And I will free her when I please" he mumbled "You have Sigi, what do you need her for... let her be free, she can stay with me." Helga insisted. "Sigi is my partner. Not my slave... and this is none of your concern. Go home to Floki, do as you're told for once" he groaned. Helga frowned turned quickly on her heels going to the market to get what she needed before she would go speak to Lagertha.

Lagertha sat on a throne in the hall, her belly starting to swell as her baby grew inside her. She smiled and waved Helga over as she came in. "Lagertha... I have something to ask you, please." Lagertha nodded "Yes?" Helga smiled at her friend "I wish for you to ask Ragnar to free Kari. She can stay with me. Rollo is not good to her" Helga was a sweet women, hard to refuse most of the time. Lagertha thought for a moment before Sigi cut in "Rollo would not be cruel to her, he wouldn't" she spoke in denial. Another voice butted in this time, a deeper voice, causing Lagertha to smile. Ragnar came into the room from his bedroom "Rollo will be cruel to her because he is interested in her. She is a attractive women, and Sigi is here caring for Lagertha... I would be surprised if he hasn't taken her already." He grinned, sitting beside his wife, reaching over and placing his hand on her stomach. Sigi stood silent but there was anger in her eyes, she turned quickly and stormed off out of the hall. Helga tried to stop her but failed, turning back to Ragnar "Free her?... please?" she begged, Ragnar sighed "She is Rollo's slave." Helga sighed and nodded "Thank you anyway, Ragnar. Lagertha.." she mumbled.

Kari had managed to catch 3 fish, having spent most of the day creating the spear to do so, it was nearing dark as she wandered back to Rollo's house. Stopping at the door she heard a commotion inside "You like her don't you!?" Sigi's voice hissed "No! I like you. Now stop being crazy. You shouldn't listen to Ragnar, he doesn't know what he's talking about. I like you... the slave isn't nearly as beautiful as you" his voice becoming sweet towards the end, a change from his usual deep growl. Kari bit her lip and cursed herself for being stupid enough to think he wanted her last night. When the noise had died down she made her way inside, fish in hand.

"Finally. You're back. Prepare the fish for dinner, Sigi will be home tonight, she will need some too. And would you hurry before we starve" his deep growling voice was back. Great. Nodding slowly Kari hurried over to the table, preparing the fish before she cooked them, stumbling often as she rushed, even dropping one of the fish as she cut them. "That will be yours. Make sure of that" Rollo mumbled as he sat with Sigi near the fire. With a almost  silent sigh she cooked the fish and put them on the table for the two of them, sitting over on her bed as she ate.

Once they were finished they left their plates and Rollo took Sigi's hand, leading her to the bedroom. Kari cleaned up before settling herself down to sleep, trying to ignore any noises coming from the bedroom.
