Kari had been staying with Floki and Helga for about a month, she was still a little weak but she had battled through the flu enough to know she'd survive. It was coming to a time when Kari would have to return to Rollo, but she had hoped she could drag it out till the next raid and stay with Helga while they were away.

Helga was outside watching Floki build, Kari walking out to join her, seeing the way that Helga watched Floki made Kari happy. Their love was so deep that it couldn't truly be understood by most Vikings. They shared each other's playful souls. Sitting with Helga, she spoke up "I don't ever wish to return to Rollo... you've both been so kind to me" Helga smiled at her newest friend "You are a good person, you deserve it. Rollo will free you, he must. You are a special person, Floki says so. You have a gift from the gods" Kari nodded and sighed "If only he would tell me what this gift is" she laughed "I could use my powers to get rid of Rollo" she kept joking and Helga laughed, shaking her head. "You need not get rid of Rollo, he fancies you, you know" Floki yelled over to the women, giggling to himself. Kari just rolled her eyes and walked over to the waters edge, the suns was warm today, but the water was still fairly cold.

"Swim with me Helga" Kari grinned "You'll catch your death again... you can't" she laughed Kari shrugged and slipped the shoulders of her dress off, letting it fall down she stepped into the water "You'll have to stop me then?!" She laughed, running into the cold water, it soothed her body in a way, the cold was refreshing. Helga hurried over and stripped down, running in after her friend as she splashed. The two swam together and giggled "Now we must get Floki... " Helga smirked as the two swam closer to the boatbuilder before Helga waved her arm and splashed water over onto his face, causing him to look up from his work with an evil look "Ohhh you've done it now Helga!" Kari laughed as Floki grinned and came running towards the water.

Once the water became too cold they all made their way back into the house, sitting by the fire in nothing but furs. Helga leaned over and kissed Floki, cupping his cheeks in her hands and straddled his waist and kissed him harder, Floki following her lead and running his fingers through her hair. Kari sat awkwardly watching the fire burn before she heard two sets of giggles and looked over at the couple.
"Will you join us Kari? You're well enough now" Helga grinned, blushing slightly. Kari bit her lip nervously and nodded "mhm" she mumbled. Helga nodded her head to Floki who walked over from their bedroom door and reached for Kari's hand, taking it and leading her to the door, leaving a kiss on her hand before he opened the door and lead the women to the bed.

(we all know viking's were not shy about their open sex lives xD Viking men could take whoever they wanted, especially if she were a slave. Skipping ahead since this is a Rollo story. Will come back and write the scene if requested)

Another week had passed before Kari had to leave Floki and Helga, returning to Rollo, not because she wanted to, but because she had to. Walking up to Rollo's home in town, she knocked on the door but there was no answer, nobody was home. Making her way towards the market she went in search of the tables Rollo drank with his friends at. She figured he'd be there if he wasn't home. And she was right, making her way over to the tables she caught sight of Rollo, his long hair draped over his shoulders and his beard dripping down his beard. He was drunk. Oh good.

"Rollo... I've returned to continue my work, I am healed" Kari spoke softly, intimidated by the other men surrounding the table. Rollo's drunk eyes were glazed "Ah, yes, We've all heard the story of how Floki.... healed... you." he looked her up and down with disgust. Kari froze and silently cursed Floki's big mouth. "Well. Someone had to, not like you could stand to the challenge. Little boy like you probably couldn't handle a real women" Kari spoke without thinking, laughing as she did so. Rollo's face grew angry, he placed his mug down on the table with a loud thud and began to stand. Kari rolled her eyes and turned around, walking back towards the market without a care. She was done taking orders from someone so vile. It wasn't long before his huge hand wrapped around her tiny wrist and yanked her towards him, sending her crashing to the ground. Kari screamed out in pain and held her wrist in her hand, Rollo looked down at her with disgust. "You are a whore, nothing more, maybe even lesser. You disgust me, fetch dinner and get home to cook it, get out of my sight." Kari whimpered at the pain in her wrist and got up on her feet. Looking Rollo dead in the eyes she smiled and spat in his face "No. I will never work for you. You are a vile man and I will not be treated like this. Rot in hell"walking away from Rollo she made her way to the hall Earl Ragnar resided in. Bursting through the door she hoped to see Ragnar but was greeted by Lagertha.

"Kari, you've returned. Where is Rollo?" Lagertha asked calmly "I could care less where he is. I came to speak to Ragnar, where is he?" Kari asked, walking over to the Earl's wife. "He is out with Bjorn, he is planning the next raid, what is the problem, maybe I can help" Lagertha had a sweet smile "I wish to be freed, I wish to go on the next raid, I wish to learn to fight... Will you teach me? it would be an honor to learn from you..." Kari's eyes were desperate and sad "I will ask my husband... but why is it you wish to go? you've just returned, you've only just recovered from sickness" Kari didn't know if Lagertha would care about her claims of abuse, Kari was just a slave. She bit her lip and was silent for a moment "I just... really wanna see England again...." she said unsure of herself, not much of a liar. Lagertha looked down and saw her already bruised wrist and she was silent for a moment, knowing very well that could not have been caused by Helga or Floki.  "I will speak to my husband, if he says no, I will still teach you to fight..." there was a sadness in her voice, but also hope. Either way, Kari would not be taken advantage of any longer.
