Chapter 22

I ran to roof to roof in the night to join Batman where he saw Dr Strange. According to him, Dr Strange left a building with a car full of boxes.

Batman put a GPS on it to trace his way. For the moment the car didn't stop. We had to rummage throught the building.

As I entered in the first floor, I smelt the sent of antiseptic.

  '' It's maybe one of his lab '' I whispered to my father. 

He nodded and I went farther in the building. All the rooms where abandoned. Then Batman told me to go in the basement with him. He found intresting things. 

I followed him in the gloomy stairs. 

There was a hallway and three doors. The first was silghtly open. It was an office. Paper were everywhere on the floor. Batman entered and began to read the sheets. 

  '' They'r reports on experimentations. I stay here to look at them. Go in the others rooms '' he said to me.

I nodded.

I walked to the second door. It wasn't close. I opened and find a lab. It was a white room. Dr Strange made his experimentation in it. I was sure of that. In the middle of the room, there was a metal board, with handcuffs. Blood was on it. People had been suffering here.

I went out of it. I went to the thrid door. I opened it. 

I called my father, shocked by what I saw. He arrived with papers on his hands. 

  '' What is it ?'' he asked.

I pointed him the inside of the room. He gasped. 

There were five dead bodies,  laying on the floor. All have been shot in the head. Blood wasn't dry. They have been killed few hours before. Their eyes seemed looking at us, accusing us to arrive too late.

My father looked at the paper on his hands. 

  '' The five of them have a paper at their names, with their pictures. ''

He showed me. I took the papers and saw the five faces of the dead bodies, smiling at me on their pictures. 

   '' The identification will be easy '' he said. '' Look all of the dead bodies have a red cross on their papers.''

I skimed between the diffrent papers. 

  '' Look another paper with a red cross '' Batman said.

I looked at the picture and I felt my heart sink.

  '' Y/N ''
