Chapter 8- I Wonder If He's Mute

I had been in the detention room for nearly five minutes together with other victims and there had still been no sign of Dylan. I didn't know if that was a good or bad thing. The teacher in charge of detention today had excused himself to do whatever it was he wanted to do, not before threatening to deal with us if we tried to escape. Somehow, I knew he wasn't going to be back. But just as I was about to get lost in the book I was reading, I heard footsteps.

I looked up to see Felix, Filip, Dylan and a very pissed Foster! Of course they would be here! Troublemakers!

Foster plopped on the seat at my left side while Dylan occupied the one at my right side. Felix sat in front of me,turning the chair so he could face me,while Filip took the chair beside him and mirrored Felix.

"What did you g-" I was asking Foster but was cut short when he suddenly fixed his earphones into his ears. I rolled my eyes and turned to an amused looking Dylan.

"What?" I asked. Dylan shook his head and grinned. I turned to Felix who was smirking. From the corner of my eyes, I noticed Filip scribbling on a book.

"What did you do?" I asked Felix. He rubbed his hands together, the smirk still on his lips.

"Finally. I thought you'd never ask." I snorted. "We pulled a prank on Mr Baxter." He stated triumphantly. What? Mr Baxter of all people!? These kids are really something! I guess that explains why Foster was pissed. He was obviously dragged into this mess.

"And what was that prank if I may ask?" I asked, the incredulity evident in my voice.

"Oh we just sprayed his car with the colors of the rainbow,deflated his tires and told him we saw someone do it."

"What!?" I exclaimed.

"Calm down sweetheart." Dylan chuckled.

"What!?" I glared at him which earned me a smirk.

"As I was saying." Felix cut in. I almost snorted. "Baxter was furious but was also suspicious of us since Dylan just had to have a red stain on his hand! He questioned that so we told him Dylan tried to catch the person and got stained." Like Mr Baxter would believe any of the table 1s would care that much about him!

"And he believed you." I mocked. Felix scoffed.

"He should've! Either way, he didn't completely believe us. So,here we are!" He grinned. I facepalmed.

"What if he does find out? You know, CCTV?" I asked.

"Oh he won't! Trust me." Felix beamed as he highfived Dylan. Filip chuckled and shook his head. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at these delinquents.

Filip had been surprisingly quiet throughout Felix's narration. But then again,there wasn't really anything to be said,I guess. I had tried to avoid his gaze cos man that dude is gorgeous!

"So who's your ride?" Dylan asked me. I shrugged. We had just finished detention and were heading to the parking lot. Just like I predicted, that teacher never came back!

"I'm actually going to take the bus." My two rides, Brian and Nikki had had to go home earlier. "Family emergencies". That's what happens when you have rich best friends whose parents see them as their potential heir and heiress!

Papa Headway,Brian's father and Mr Perry, Nikki's father have been business partners for over ten years only in the shipping business. So they try as much as possible to involve their children in it. Brian's the only son of his parents so it's natural he's the heir. Nikki on the other hand was chosen as the heiress of her father. We all thought it'd be Sean but he was more interested in the fashion line of his mum so he's the heir of that. Seeing as they're only two of them, Nikki had to be recruited as the heiress. But somehow deep down, I feel it's because both parents want their heir and heiress to get married in the future so as to immortalize the partnership. I just hope that wouldn't be the case because Nikki and Brian do not see themselves more than "siblings" . And I really don't want to lose my best friends just because of some sick archaic agenda of their parents!
