Luffy and Ace

School Day, Lunch!

-Ace's pov-

Tick tock Tick tock-
All I could focus on was the quiet ticking sound of the clock hanging on the wall.
After seeing luffy it was like my day had gotten ten times slower, anticipating the next time I got to see him.

Doing the work on my desk was near impossible, every time I picked up my pencil I ended up zoning out. Looking at the blank piece of paper I still hadn't written on.

Luffy surprised me today, I wasn't expecting him to seriously reply to me when I asked if he was near the water fountains to see me. it was a pleasant surprise... No, better than pleasant, It made me overly happy.
Wishing I could tell him how much he means to me...

Teacher: alright its time to head down to the cafeteria!

Those words sounded like honey to my ears. If I managed to get down to the cafeteria in time I might be able to see luffy passing by.

My classmates trickled out of the room, slowly walking down the hallway. I knew I couldn't get away with running. My teacher behind us would stop me, possibly lecturing me as well.

I followed behind everyone. Being patient as we walked down to the cafeteria.
I heard some quick footsteps to The side of me, looking around I saw sabo catching up.

Sabo: yo. You were really zoning out in class.

I sighed, reaching my hand up to rub at my temple.

Ace: yeah I know. Just had a lot on my mind.

Sabo: or, a lot of one specific person on your mind.

Sabo teased. Lightly pushing his elbow into my side.

Ace: I just keep thinking about what I'm going to tell him.

Ace got a worried look on his face, as if for a second he had lost all his confidence. The usually confident boy wasn't so sure of himself right now.

Sabo: it'll be fine. You know luffy feels the same, its pretty obvious.

Ace felt a little better but he still couldn't get rid of the anxious feeling.

Ace: its possible I've been mistaking his affection for a brotherly love... You know that as much as I do.

Sabo stayed quiet for a couple seconds as they continued to walk along.

Sabo: I'm not going to say that its impossible, but it's very unlikely.

Ace laughed. At this point he knew all he could do is tell luffy how he feels and see how he responds.

The rest of the swarm of seniors started making their way through the halls, everyone trying to orderly walk down the wide stairwell.

Teacher: kid! No running!

Sabo and I looked to our side as we walked down, Kid was running through the hall and as soon as he approached the stairwell he jumped down 2-3 steps at a time.

Sabo: kid is gonna get in trouble again- hey kid!

Kid stopped his rampage to the cafeteria, looking at us.
