It was a new day for the Kryptonian as she flew through the city, admiring everything with a new perspective. Kara used her super hearing to listen in on a few school girls bullying another student.
"Who do you think you are? You look stupid in that Supergirl outfit." The ginger smirked stepping closer to the girl who stood tall, bravery clear in her eyes. "Well I think Supergirl is amazing and strong."
"Well you look like a nerd. No one's friends with nerds like you." Kara shook her head and landed beside the students. "Well I think you look great in that outfit," Kara x-rayed through the girls' bag, finding her name written on an assessment piece. Kara smiled at the young girl, "Laura."
The small Supergirl's eyes lit up with her jaw dropping. "You know my name?" Kara nodded smiling as she knew she was making the girl go up the ranks of popularity. "Yes, I'm friends with all the nice girls. Have a lovely day!" Kara flew back up into the sky as students stood below, absolutely flabbergasted that Supergirl had shown up to their school.
A few moments later, Kara's earpiece went off, Alex's voice being on the end of the line. "Kara, there's been an explosion at L-Corp. We are five minutes out. Hurry!"
"I'm on my way, I'll get everyone out." Kara rushed to L-Corp within a minute, noticing that the only part of the building that had been detonated was-
"Lena!" Kara's instincts took over as she crashed into the debris on Lena's balcony, creating an exit. "Ms. Luthor? Are you in here?" No response. Kara used her x-ray vision and saw a woman laying on the floor by the now burnt couch. "Lena!" Kara sped over to the CEO. Lena's body was covered in broken glass and Kara definitely knew who was behind this horrific attack.
"Lex.." She muttered under her breath before gently lifting the young Luthor into her arms, carrying her bridle style out of the building. Kara felt something crack within the Kryptonian's heart. What am I feeling? Kara placed the Luthor onto the disguised DEO ambulance gurney, making sure to let Alex know she was going to visit Lex.
"Supergirl no." Alex gently grabbed Kara's arm, knowing Kara was not good at always controlling her anger. Especially if it involved someone Kara cared about. "You shouldn't go. All you will do is give Lex exactly what he wants. We will figure out how he is planning all of these attacks and stop them." Kara sighed leaning shoulder to shoulder with her sister.
"He hurt her Alex. Twice in the last two weeks. We need to start doing something now." Alex nodded pulling out her phone. "I will get a few agents to stand by Lena's house and office, to watch over her." Alex's features softened, yet a hint of mischief were evident in her eyes. "One of those agents can be you Supergirl." Kara locked eyes with her adoptive sister, searching her gaze, wondering what she was trying to pull.
"Well if you want me to, I will." Alex nodded before jumping into the back of the ambulance. "J'onn will brief you once you reach the DEO," Alex's phone buzzed, the short-haired girl glancing down. "We might have to rain-check that briefing. There is a pod plummeting into Earth's atmosphere. J'onn is flying towards it. Supergirl go-" Kara was already off to catch up with J'onn. Alex shook her head smiling. "Let's go, we need to make sure Ms. Luthor is stabilized before we reach the base."
Kara flew beside J'onn, trying to lock onto the unidentified pod. "That's a Kryptonian pod! I think I can reach it." Kara pulled ahead of J'onn, her fingers almost grasping the ship. "Supergirl be careful."
The pod had a hidden force-field which activated when Kara touched it. It caused Kara to get a small electric shock. "J'onn, we can't slow it down."
"We just need to make sure no one gets hurt because of it. The ship is heading straight for that crane, you need to move it out of the way." Kara's eyes went wide as she pushed ahead of both the pod and J'onn, gripping the crane and spinning it around, the pod barely dodging the manufacture.
A few seconds later, the pod went off-course, roughly hitting the concrete floor. Luckily for both heroes, it landed in an empty parking lot. The two quickly flew down, their feet grazing the ground. Kara quickly walked towards the pod as J'onn reached his arm out. "Supergirl, you don't know what's in there."
Kara didn't listen, pulling off the cover, revealing a man with a maroon-coloured long shirt. His eyes were closed as though he was in a coma. J'onn flew the "man" back to the DEO with Kara easily carrying the ship behind him.
-----------------------------------------------
The two arrived at the DEO, but Kara's mind wasn't on the man that fell to Earth. It was filled with someone else. Alex walked up to Kara after she placed the ship into the storage facility. "Kara, it seems like this stranger may have been a-"
"Where is Lena? Is she okay?" Kara was pacing back and forth, not really noticing the small smirk on her sister's face. "She is in surgery, removing all the shards from her skin. She has a few broken ribs and all-round bruises. Lena will have a few scars around her side but nothing permanent." Kara nodded, pulling her Alex into a deep hug.
"Thank you.. Can you let me know when she wakes up?" Alex let out a long breath, reciprocating the heartfelt hug. "I will Kara, now you need to get to work or you'll be late."
"Snapper will kill me if I'm late again!" Kara ran to the door, turning her head back to Alex with a smile. "Sister night still on for tonight?" Alex nodded. "Go or you might get fired." Kara's eyes widened as she laughed slightly.
"Yes! Okay okay! See you!"
---------------------------------------
Later that night:
Knock. Knock. Kara leaned up from her couch, x-raying the door. She smiled realising it was Alex, holding pizza and "a bottle of wine. Of course! Come in!" Kara laughed as Alex entered, throwing her jacket onto the rack then walking over to Kara.
"Hey sis, I bought your favourite." Alex lifted the box open, revealing not pizza but- "Potstickers!" Kara jumped up hugging her sister and not-so-subtly grabbing the box from her hands. Before Alex could react, Kara had already stuffed her face with 3 potstickers.
"What movie are we watching tonight?" Alex asked, sitting down and covering the two girls with blankets. Kara cuddled up to her sister, still eating the potstickers which were almost gone. "I was thinking a comedy tonight. How about White Chicks?" Alex nodded, typing the movie onto the Apple TV, pressing play a few minutes later.
----------------------------------
About halfway through the movie, Kara was fast asleep and Alex could barely keep her eyes open. The two had a long day and they didn't start their sister night till 9pm due to Alex's extremely long debriefing from J'onn. Kara loved J'onn but sometimes he would get too involved in his work. However, Kara's dream began to change from J'onn to a certain green-eyed woman.
She was staring right at Kara. "Why hello there Ms. Danvers." Kara gulped as the beautiful woman walked closer to her. "Am I messing with your head?" Kara nodded slowly as Lena gently lifted her hands, resting them behind the blonde's neck. "L-Lena I-"
"Don't worry Kara," she purred, "No one needs to know just yet." Kara went completely red as the CEO leaned up, pressing her lips to the reporter's. Surprisingly, Kara didn't pull away. She melted into Lena, getting enough courage to wrap her arms around the Luthor.
The two pulled apart a few moments later. Kara was in a daze, locking eyes with the emerald-eyed woman. "Kara?"
"Yes?" The image of Lena became distorted, causing Kara to become uneasy. "Kara?" The world started to shake violently, throwing Kara to the ground.
"Kara! Wake up!" Alex was shaking her sister as Kara opened her eyes. "W- Wh- What happened?" Alex relaxed slightly, cuddling back up to Kara. "You were freaking me out. You were saying some pretty strange things in your dream. I thought something was wrong." Kara felt her chest, noting her heartbeat was rapid. She took a few deep breaths in and out, leaning back into Alex's embrace.
"I- I don't know what is happening Alex." Kara sighed, pausing the movie and looked up at Alex.
"I think, I think I might like Lena."
