The gold elevator doors of CatCo opened revealing the blonde Kryptonian. Her hair fell perfectly against her shoulders, wearing a cute baby pink blouse and tight, "cheap" magenta pants, with black slip-ons to boot. Kara let out a deep breath and walked over to Snapper Carr, her new boss. Although Kara had been reporting for a short while now, she knew that Snapper did not find the girl amusing or likeable. He always grunted around her, calling her "Ponytail" instead of Kara, which was worse than Ms Grants "Kiera."

Snapper glanced at the young reporter for a moment then looked back down at his papers, ignoring Kara's calls for him. "Sir, I heard you wanted to speak to me.." Kara spoke shyly, knowing that Snapper would eventually talk. He grunted quietly and raised himself from his seat. Snappers' appearance was definitely not a sight for sore eyes. His rugged appearance did make the young hero curious as to how he passed through so many obstacles in his life, but she wasn't judging. Kara knew exactly what it was like to be judged by others without given a second look. Deep down, behind his prickly exterior, was a kind and caring man. Although Kara couldn't quite see it right now, this man would turn out to be dearer to her than most people could be.

"I heard Lena Luthor has been creating a weapon to exploit aliens. Well, not a weapon but something that could be seen as one. I need you to do an exclusive on Ms. Luthor and learn her reasons behind this new device." Snapper put his index finger in the air, all serious lodged onto his face. "Remember, no biased opinions and remember to spell exclusive correctly this time." Kara narrowed her eyes, her mind racing with thoughts of Lena creating an alien weapon. She would never do that, I know her, don't I? When Kara didn't answer, her boss flicked her arm. "What are you still doing here? Go out there and get me that interview! Bake! Bake! Bake!" Snapper pushed the hero out of his office in an attempt to kick start the reporter's story.

Kara smiled slightly, happy for Snapper to have given her a chance at reporting real news. As she walked around the building of CatCo, she thought for a moment about how she would begin the piece before walking into James' office. It was still strange that Cat Grant wasn't the boss of CatCo anymore, although she was extremely proud of her friend who became the new "Cat Grant." James sat with his face in full concentration mode, staring at some of the layouts set for tomorrows cover. It regarded the President's arrival and her signing of the Alien Amnesty Act. The headline read: The President and Aliens? Could there be more behind the Act? The main story outlined how perhaps there was an alien in the President's life or an encounter with an alien in her teenage years.

Of course CatCo is trying to circulate rumours. "Hey James!" Kara called out, gently tapping the glass doors of his office. James looked up and smiled brightly, seeing the woman who held his heart. He knew that Kara didn't feel the same anymore, but the fact that she still cared for him meant everything. "Hey Kara, how are you going?"

Kara sat down on the chair in front of the handsome man's desk and at super speeds, pulled out one of the layouts from his desk, studying the photos. "I'm doing well. Snapper is finally giving me a chance at real reporting. I am doing an exclusive on Lena Luthor." When Kara said Lena's name, James swore he could see her eyes dilate slightly. He knew that look. That's her puppy love look. James tried to keep a smile on his face but it faltered. He turned around in the chair to hide his disappointment and suddenly became extremely interested at the TV's. "My Supergirl duties have been going well but the DEO have been on the chase, trying to capture Lena's mother, the head of CADMUS. We also found out that Jeremiah is still alive, so Alex and J'onn have been trying to track him down. J- James?" Kara slammed the layouts back onto his desk a little too hard, accidentally leaving a single long crack all along the centre of James' work station. "Oh! Shoot, I am so so- sorry J- James! Here, let me um.. I.." Kara shifted her glasses down as her eyes change colour. James rushed over and pulled Kara into a hug, turning her away from the desk.
