"Kara I wanted to say- Supergirl? I- uh- I didn't know. I should go." Kara didn't have time to react as she saw the young Luthor disappear out of the hallway. "L- Lena?"
Kara shut the door and rushed over to the mirror in the bedroom. "Oh shit." Her hair was down and Kara's most impertinent part to her disguise, her glasses, were nowhere to be found on her face. "She wasn't supposed to know like this." Kara sighed as she sprawled out on her bed, her hands rubbing up and down her face. "I have to call Alex, mm well maybe tomorrow." Kara yawned and closed her eyes, the darkness soon taking over.
The next day felt like a blur, there was another attack at the National City Bank around 05:00 which meant that Kara did not get much sleep. Although she didn't need it, Kara was not feeling up to fighting crime today, she just wanted to hide away from the world. The CEO of L-Corp haunted her dreams and sought to seek revenge on the Girl of Steel. Even though Kara knew Lena to be a good person and nothing like her family, she still felt uneasy about her dream.
A few hours later Kara was hard at work. She typed furiously onto the computer regarding the robbery at the bank. Snapper assigned her to the robbery which made her feel like they were beginning to get along, as well as the fact that he was starting to believe in her. Kara didn't notice a figure walking up to her office door because she was too caught up in her work to realise.
"Hey Kara." Lena's voice echoed slightly through the room stirring Kara from her thoughts. She glanced up to find Lena standing in the doorway with a red blouse and black pencil skirt. Her hair fell perfectly onto her shoulders and those lips. Kara had to contain herself before jumping out of her seat to awkwardly greet the CEO. Kara smiled at the Luthor though her eyes showed concern and weariness. "Hey Lena.." Kara dragged off unsure of what to say next.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Lena pleaded, taking a seat in front of Kara's desk. Kara shuffled up her papers, shut the computer then fiddled with her hands. "I.. I don't know Lena. I really wanted to tell you, so many times. I just I couldn't."
"Did you not trust me Kara? Is that why you couldn't tell me that you and Supergirl are dating?"
Kara took a moment to understand what Lena was talking about. Her eyes widened at the thought. "Oh Lena. N- No, no, Supergirl and I aren't dating!" Lena rolled her eyes and rose from the chair, turning around to leave the room. "Kara you don't have to lie to me, I wouldn't do anything to put you or Supergirl in harms way.. Unless you think I am just like the rest of my family: Liars." Lena spat, venom piercing through her voice before storming out of the office.
Kara shouted Lena's name, stumbling out of her chair and chased after the young Luthor. "Lena! Wait, Rao stop walking so fast! Let me explain." Kara used some of her super speed to catch up to the green-eyed woman. Lena spun around when Kara grabbed her arm. "Lena I'm sorry, you're my friend. I care about you a lot."
"Kara.. Just give me time please?" Kara felt her heart being ripped out of her chest. It's not supposed to be like this! I'm Supergirl! Kara let go of Lena's arm, watching in silence as the elevator doors closed. Kara mouthed a saddened "I'm sorry" even though she knew Lena couldn't hear her. She pulled out her phone dialing Alex's number. In two rings, her sister's voice came through the phone.
"Hey sis, everything okay?"
"LenathinksI'mdatingSupergirlIdon'tknowwhattodoAlexhelpme." Kara rushed, her thoughts taking over.
"Wait, how did that even happen? You know Lena can't find out who you are, not yet Kara." Kara sighed and walked into the next open elevator. "I'm heading to the DEO, I will tell you all that happened when I get there."
