It was a day before I was going to see Jeff. Clay had been asking me if I heard anything from the mysterious person who was texting me.
I kept telling him that I knew it wasn't Jeff so I blocked the number.
I was going to tell him today that I was lying though. I knew that I shouldn't keep this from Clay. Jeff was his best friend. I couldn't do that to him.
I walked into the library seeing Clay at the table him and Jeff used to sit at. I frowned seeing him look so sad while he sat there. I walked over to him and sat down.
"This was yours and Jeff's studying table." I said. Clay nodded smiling slightly. "Yeah, I miss him a lot." Clay sighed. I placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Clay, Jeff is alive." I told him. Clay looked at me like I was crazy. "That was actually him texting me." I said biting my lip. "How are you so sure? He's dead, Kat." Clay laughed slightly because he knew I sounded crazy.
"I talked to him on the phone last night. It was his voice, Clay!" I whispered so no one else could hear us. "There's other people who can sound like him, Kat. You're hurt. Maybe it wasn't his voice and your mind was playing tricks on you. You miss him. He was your everything but I'm not gonna let you put yourself in danger." Clay said.
"It was him. I'm seeing him tomorrow. You can't stop me." I said a bit angry that he was trying to tell me I was crazy.
"Katherine, don't. You are gonna get yourself killed." Clay shook his head.
"I'm going to see my baby." I stood up and left quickly.
