Scott didn't understand what was going on with Stiles, he hadn't seen him in the last few days, he hadn't answered his calls or his texts.Had that encounter with that strange man freaked Stiles out that much?
So he was at Stiles house. He wouldn't be leaving until he got some answers. The Sheriff opened the door and to Scott's surprise the Sheriff's shoulders sagged in relief when he saw Scott.
"You've come for Stiles, right?"
He ushered Scott inside quickly.
"What's going on?" Scott asked slowly, feeling uneasy.
The Sheriff grimaced as he said "Ah, I was hoping you'd know"
At Scott's look he continued "His just been acting strangely, ever since he came back when you was with you"
Scott suddenly felt slightly more relaxed.
Maybe it was just that odd encounter that had freaked Stiles out.
"He just doesn't smile any more, well he does but doesn't, you know? He hasn't been acting like himself, I'm really worried about him"
Okay... maybe it wasn't just than encounter.
The uneasy feeling was back.
"I'll talk to him" Scott assured the Sheriff.
His father looked relived at that "Thank you, I've tried but...well, think a visit from you will do him some good"
He pointed up the stairs and said worriedly "Stiles has just kept himself up in his room, his hardly left it"
Scott nodded, saying his thanks to the poor worried father then walked up the stairs to Stiles bedroom.
He felt a prick of irritation, he hated it when Stiles worried his father like this. He knew Stiles hated it as well so why was he acting like this?
He knocked on Stiles door.
There was no reply.
"Stiles?"
Still no reply?
Was he asleep?
Scott slowly pushed the door open when no noise came from the room.
He gaped slightly at what he saw.
Stiles room was a tip, there was photos stuck on the walls with random words that Scott didn't recognise written next to them.
Sheets of paper and newspapers where scattered around the room.
Stiles was also there, sitting on his bed, on his laptop, not even glancing up at Scott he said "You know usually when someone doesn't answer their bedroom door it means they want to be left alone"
Scott frowned slightly at the dismissive attitude "Stiles-"
Who suddenly looked up at him and asked completely out of the blue "Have you heard of a vortex manipulator?"
Scott stammered completely caught of guard "I-I don't-"
"No, I don't suppose you would, never mind" Stiles interrupted him, then looking back to his laptop and continued doing what he was doing, like Scott had never entered.
"Stiles, what is all of this?" Scott demanded, shaking himself out of his surprise.
"Reseach" Stiles muttered, but only seemed to be paying half attention to what Scott was saying.
"Yes, I know but why? Your dads worried about you, I'm worried about you"
Stiles didn't answer, eyes locked on to what he was doing on the screen.
Scott, who had enough, walked over and reached out and slammed the laptop shut, snatching it away.
Finally getting Stiles full attention, who yelped "Hey!"
"Stiles, what is going on?" Scott hissed, glaring at him.
Stiles looked like he was deciding if he wanted to waste the effort in trying to get his laptop back or actually communicating.
Finally he seemed to decide that his laptop wasn't worth the effort as he sighed, suddenly looking tired, giving Scott a look of irritation.
"You're not going to leave unless I start talking, are you?" He said dryly, sounding reluctant.
Scott glared at him, not budging from his spot.
Stiles rubbed his face, seemingly frustrated.
Scott tried to sense his emotions but they were strangely much more difficult to reach than before, Stiles smell and usual emotional state was completely off.
He smelt of this strange otherness that Scott couldn't place.
His emotions were completely stable, no anxiety at all, only a strange confidence and a reassurance in himself that Scott had never sensed on Stiles before.
Stiles however did look slightly uncomfortable as he said "Well, this is going to be difficult to explain..."
