The Doctor stared at his brother, feeling his little brothers pain. What's the point?
What was the point?
It hadn't gone down how he thought it had and he seriously needed to explain that though what his little brother still had said was true.
They were still alone.
"I...don't know" He said truthfully.
He never really had known. Just kept on going, because that's all he really could do, wasn't it?
"But..."
Stiles and the Doctor both turned to look at Scott, to be honest they had both completely forgotten he was here.
He reddened in embarrassment as they both looked at him. He stumbled over his words.
"But you're not alone. You- you're brothers right? You have each other now, even if your race is extinct. You're not alone any more"
Stiles gritted his teeth, not looking Scott in the eyes as he replied "That's different Scott"
"How is it different!" Scott demanded, not letting this go.
"You don't know what you're talking about! This is none of your business!" Stiles almost shouted, raising his voice in anger.
"It is my business if I'm going to get killed over this!" Scott snapped back, holding his ground.
Stiles opened his mouth to retort then promptly shut it again. He looked away from Scott's hard gaze.
"He killed them" He said quietly, though there was more pain and grief in his voice rather than anger this time.
"You don't even know even know why. You wanted to kill him without even giving him a chance to explain" Scott said, stepping closer to Stiles.
His tone calmer and far more reasonable.
"There's nothing he can say that excuses what's his done" Stiles growled, though still not turning to face Scott and the Doctor.
Stiles finally turned to face them but glared at the Doctor.
"You deserve this!"
"Maybe I do but-" The Doctor started to say, sounding more solemn but Scott interrupted him, stepping in between the brothers.
"But I don't!"
He turned to Stiles. Pleading and desperate, begging to get through to him.
"You'd really kill me? Just to get back at your brother!? I used to be your best friend. I still am your friend! And I am begging you to help him! If not for him, or even you. Can't you...can't you do it for me!?"
Scott made sure he was right in front of Stiles so he couldn't look away.
"Our memories of my childhood with you may have been fake but the recent couple of years? They weren't! I'm still your friend Stiles, please!"
Stiles shifted uncomfortably, glancing at the Doctor, unclenching and clenching his jaw.
Scott knew he almost got through to him, almost.
"Despite everything, we had good times, didn't we?"
Stiles let out a sigh, his eyes turning more wistful "Yeah...we did"
He let out a breath before straightening then saying more firmly "Okay, I'll help. Okay?"
Scott felt himself relax in relief.
"Okay"
The Doctor stepped forward, eyes only for his brother "Thank you, I-"
"I didn't do it for you!" Stiles interrupted him snappily.
He glanced at Scott before going over to the controls of the TARDIS.
Stiles turned to the Doctor who hadn't moved yet, still trying to process what had just happened...
"Well? Are you going to help me or not?"
The Doctor smiled.
It was strange Scott realised as he watched the Doctor get to work to help Stiles.
Ever since Stiles had become a Time Lord, Stiles still hadn't smiled properly once.
We are actually nearing the end, yeah it's quite a short story. Technically there are only about three chapters left but I probably am going to extend two of them so there could be three-five chapters left. Anyway hope you enjoy this chapter, hope you have a great day! And let me know what you think xx
