Waiting.

They waited and waited....

And waited...

Three weeks went past with nothing, no message, no phone call, nothing.

They were beginning to lose hope he would ever return.

Scott had begun to wonder if what Derek had said was right. Did he really know Stiles?

But it wasn't Scott who was welcomed with Stiles presence in the most unusual way.

It was Lydia...

She was in her bedroom, reading a book, trying to clear her head. The book was one of her favourites. The little mermaid.

Just as she reached the end, Lydia stiffened as she heard the most unusual sound.

A strange electrifying buzzing. A strange light..

She stared as a light emerged from in the middle of her room.

The light solidified and closed together forming a person...

Could it be?

"Stiles?!"

It was!

He looked considerably ruffled and he was concentrating on a strange leather band around his wrist, he had a screwdriver he was fiddling around with the mechanics in the band? No wait, not band, it was some kind of watch.

He looked up and relaxed as he saw Lydia.

"It worked" He muttered.

Lydia's mouth full open as she gasped. How was this possible?

"S-stiles?!"

He grinned, shrugging calmly "What? I made a promise didn't I?"

She took in the way his clothes seemed ripped and there was an odd hole in his sleeve.

His hair all over the place.

Lydia's eyes narrowed slightly as she asked "What kind of trouble did you get you self into?"

The Stiles she knew would have tried to dodge the question or looked nervous. This Stiles said like he was talking about the weather "Oh, ha, funny story that. I had some trouble with UNIT, turns out they don't like it if you steal from them"

He frowned slightly, glancing at the whole in his sleeve and saying with mild annoyance "They shot me in the arm, rather rude, you know"

Lydia paled, staring at him.

"They what?"

"Oh, no, no! I'm fine, seriously. It's been longer than one week for me. It's healed up, see"

He pulled up his sleeve, true to his word all that was there was a scar but...

"You were gone three weeks, not only one" Lydia said, crossing her arms, glaring at him.

Stiles glanced down at the watch he'd been fiddling with.

"Dam, timing a bit of there, sorry. Stupid things, I don't know how time agents deal with them" He huffed, glaring at it.

She shook her head, raising her eyebrows as him as she said "I'll pretend I understood all of that? Anyway, how did you get here and what do you mean your timing was of? How long has it been for you?!"

This time Stiles actually did seem slightly nervous as he said rubbing the back of his neck "Ah, two months, give or take a couple a days"

"Two months?!"

"I know right? I don't know how Harkness dealt with this thing, stupidly troubling to get working, of course it be better if I had some of my own technology to get it work, it's seriously been screwed with"

Lydia shook her head in disbelief as she said "That isn't the point Stiles!"

She then added exasperated, not liking that she didn't really know what was going on.

"And who the hell is Harkness"

Stiles waved his hand with the watch on it as he replied "Previous owner of this thing. Captain Jack Harkness, I think that's what his name was anyway"

Lydia muttered "I think I need a sit down"

Then slumped on to her bed, sitting on it, looking suddenly very tired with what was going on.

"I don't understand"

And that was a big thing for her, admitting that. How was there something that Stiles was completely a natural at and she just couldn't get her head around it?

"It's been two months for you?"

Stiles gave her a odd look as he said "Well, I am a time lord. I did tell you that right?"

Lydia silently fumed and now Stiles was looking at her as if she was the clueless one.

"That doesn't explain anything!" She snapped.

"Well, I can uh using this anyway, I can basically go to different planets and different times. This vortex manipulator is only meant to be used for different times but with some more fiddling I can use it to track down the Doctor and go to different planets"

Lydia stared at him as she said hesitantly "So there's another you over in London at this point?"

Stiles nodded, with a grin.

"Yep, pretty cool, right?"

And for the first time in a long long time Lydia Martin was speechless...
