When I pulled up to Briggs Bar the sun was setting behind the trees as night was beginning to settle in, I pulled into a spot and left the engine running, locking the doors. I had never been to Briggs before but by the half full parking lot and the several men standing around outside in a cloud of smoke gathered around motorcycles; I could tell it wasn't a place for me.

I pulled out my phone and pulled Harry's name up with the intent to call him when a bang on my passenger side window made me jump half a mile out of my seat. Harry was looking into my window hastily with wide eyes.

"Let me in!" He urged and I unlocked the car door, he practically spilled inside pulling himself into the cap. He reeked of liquor and cigarette smoke, but that wasn't what caught my attention. When the cab light came on before Harry closed the door I noticed his hands, there were stained a dark red, as if he had been mashing berries, or blood.

"Harry what in the fu-"

"Just drive!" He shouted at me making me jump and I put the car in reverse backing out of the parking lot.

"Are you okay?" I asked eyeing him, his hair was wild and tangled and his face was twisted in the most unreadable yet scary way yet.

"Just drive. Get me out of here." He said hastily and I nodded.

"Okay, I'll take you back to the apart-"

"No!" Harry shouted causing me to jump again.

"Jesus! Calm down! Why not?" I asked and he was quiet.

"Harry.."

"Avery." He said flatly but there was a silent small hint of warning behind it, like he was telling me to back off.

"Tell me what's going on." I urged.

Nothing.

"Harry I swear to God if you don't start talking now I'm pulling this car over." I said panicking, something had happened, and I needed to know right now.

He was silent for another second before he spoke.

"I'm leaving."

"What? Leaving?" I asked then confused by his words and lack of information.

"Leaving where? Where are you going?"

"I'm leaving the country." Harry said and I turned my head so quick to look at him I felt a spasm shoot up from the base of it into my skull.

"What?! Why? Harry start talking now or I swear to God-"

"It's done Avery." He said then, his voice much, much lower, and calmer, than it was before.

"What's done?" I asked feeling my heart begin to pump faster in my chest. He didn't answer me and I felt myself slam on the breaks in the middle of the road making us slide about ten more feet before coming to a halt.

"Jesus, what the fuck!?" Harry shouted turning to me and I slammed my hands on the steering wheel.

"Dammit Harry! Tell me what the fuck is going on. Now." I said and Harry sat there for a minute looking at my face, and I know now he was trying to figure out if I could handle the news he was about to deliver me, truth be told, I wasn't.

"I killed Langston." He said and his eyes shot straight ahead out the windshield.

I felt my heart drop, literally drop. I began having chest pains that radiated down both arms into my hands and neck and I couldn't breathe. I was having a panic attack.

I opened the car door and practically fell out onto the snow. Heaving as I tried to gulp breaths of fresh air.

I heard the passenger side door open and Harry was at my side in seconds.
