16: Run

Harry's eyes gleamed in delight and I followed his gaze to the bright red ATV sitting right outside of the wood line, begging for an adventure.

"What do you say love, care to go for a ride?" He asked holding the keys up.

"You're serious?" I asked incredulously.

"Yeah, rented it for the whole day. Come on, it'll be fun." He urged.

"Do you even know how to drive one of those-" I started to question but then rolled my eyes shaking my head exasperated, "of course you do." I said answering my own question.

"Come on Avery, live a little." He said and I followed him over to the ATV where he climbed into the driver's seating picking up the two helmets in the seat, placing one on his head he held the other one out to me.

"I think I've been living a lot lately." I counter responded but hastily pulled the helmet down over my head.

"Just, try not to kill me." I said climbing in and buckling my seat belt.

"Don't you trust me?" He asked looking almost offended although I knew he was joking.

"I trust you."

"Good. Now hang on." He said turning the key, the engine coming to a roar beneath us. He put it in gear and we took off in a flash, zipping into the jungle in front of us.

Trees zipped past us in a blur, my hair whipping around me wildly. The jungle was beautiful and, wild colorful birds scattered out of the trees in every direction as we flew by. The air was balmy damp beneath the trees, but the wind whipping through my hair was cool in comparison.
I looked over at Harry, his eyes were gleaming with delight, a wild smile pressed against his face as he accelerated forward.
We raced on the winding path in front of us, the sun streaking through the trees gave everything a beautiful fluorescent glow.
I felt the vehicle start to slow down and Harry pulled off to the side of the path on a small embankment.
"Let's explore, yeah?" He asked climbing out and unfastening his helmet, his hair tousled, the sunlight giving him a soft luminous sunkissed glow, his eyes danced with delight.
"That was exhilarating." He exclaimed placing the helmet on the seat and helping me remove my helmet.
"And I didnt kill you."
"And you didn't kill me, yet." I countered and he smiled a devilish grin. His head cocking to the side as if he was hearing something.
"What is it?" I asked but he didn't answer, he just reached out and took my hand leading me toward the noise.
The sound began getting louder as drew nearer, the trees finally broke away revealing a huge waterfall, dipping into an even larger waterhole. It was breathtakingly beautiful and I ached to know that I couldn't take a picture of this, this moment, here with Harry as he stood on the ledge of the water, his hair wild from the wind ripping through it, inky tattoos peeking out from the sleeves of his rolled up sleeves on his shirt as he admired the falls before him.

"Its beautiful." I stated and he nodded.
"Yes it is. Care to take a swim?" He asked beginning to unbutton his shirt.

"Can we? I mean what if there's snakes in there?" I asked and he laughed.

"I'm sure we will be fine. Come on it'll be fine."

"I dont have a swim suit." I counter argued.

"So swim in your underwear, it'll be fine. Come on Avery, please. For me?" He asked his big green eyes pleading. It was no fair how much power those emerald gems had over me.

"Fine." I agreed and he smirked a cocky smirk like he'd won, which he had.
He stripped down to his underwear and began walking towards the fall.
"Where are you going?" I asked, half dressed tugging at my shorts.

"You'll see." He yelled behind him over the roar of the fall.

I followed him up the embankment and we climbed all the way to the top, the water a good fifty feet drop below us.
"Harry I dont know about this." I said nervously, "what if the water is shallow?"
