"Ryan where are we going?" Cassandra asked, pushing her strawberry blonde hair from her eyes with her gloved fingertips and tucking it behind her earmuff.

The officer smiled as he pushed some curls from his eyes and under his winter hat, his blue eyes sparkling with mischief. "You'll see when we get there."

The girl let out a huff of annoyance as she crossed her arms over her chest. "You know that you're a pain sometimes right?"

Ryan chuckled. "I've been told that a few times."

Cassandra looked up and she looked up at the building confused. "Why are we here?" She asked as she looked up at the court in front of her. "What purpose do I have here?"

"Come with me. I want to show you something." He extended his hand out to her and Casandra hesitated for a moment before taking it.

The two walked up the steps and stepped inside the building. Cassandra looked around the large halls and closed doors of different courtrooms as they passed.

Ryan finally reached the desired room and he pushed the door open, holding it open for the girl. She narrowed her eyes slightly before she stepped into the room.

Some people turned to look at the two of them as Ryan quietly closed the door. As the girl looked around she saw them.

"Why are the Turners here Ryan? What's going on?"

"You'll see ." He told her as he led the two to a seat, leaving her unsatisfied with his answer.

The room was a toasty warm, it was almost as if the room was so well sealed that no hot air could ever escape it.

Cassandra, who was already heating up, removed her hand from Ryan's and she slid off her coat, gloves and earmuffs and set them onto the empty seat beside her. "Can you tell me why we're here now?" She asked as she turned to look at him.

Ryan Blake shook his head as he removed his hat, blonde curls falling falling back into his eyes. "You'll just have to wait and see." The girl let out a huff in annoyance as ryan removed his coat and gloves. He placed both his hat and gloves into his jacket pockets and turned, resting his coat onto the back of the bench.

"I hate waiting." The man chuckled.

"I know but it will be worth it, trust me."

The woman slouched down in her seat, almost like a child, and poured as she looked towards the front of the room. The prosecution and the defense entered and a few minutes later the judge finally entered. Cassandra grudgingly stood up beside Ryan as the woman entered.

The two sat back down along with the rest of the courtroom.

"Now I would like to begin. Can we have the case please?"

An older gentleman stood and cleared his throat. He read from the paper in front of him, "The defendant is being prosecuted on the grounds of vehicular homicide of Bryan Turners and attempted homicide on Cassandra Williams under the influence of alcohol on December seventh, two thousand nine. He is also being prosecuted for vehicular manslaughter under the influence of alcohol-"
